Forget the New iPhone, the Xiaomi 17 Series Has a Rear Screen and a Giant Battery

Xiaomi could copy the Apple name scheme for its new telephone line, but the series of phones Xiaomi 17 sculpts its own path with a large unique rear screen for its new Pro models. The Chinese phone manufacturer announced Thursday the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, the last two sporting a “dynamic back display” for widgets, notifications and – apparently – light games.

The telephone line announces just when the qualcomm flea manufacturer has unveiled its new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which feeds new phones and Xiaomi phones as the next OnePlus 15.

Base Xiaomi 17 will not include a rear screen, but it gets a large battery of 7,000 mAh.

Similar to the IPhone 17 seriesThe Xiaomi 17 and 17 Pro phones have a 6.3 -inch screen, while the Pro Max has a 6.9 inch. Although Xiaomi’s announcement does not have entered the details of how the 2.7 -inch rear screen could be used, one of the photos provided shows a game mode where a case with buttons to play Angry Birds (a game generally known to drag the birds with a slingshot, but this is the example provided). According to a list of specifications translated on the Xiaomi website, the screen has a cooling rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 3,500 nit.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro will start at 4,999 Chinese Yuan (around $ 700) for its model with 12 GB of memory and 256 GB of storage, while the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max starts at 5,999 Yuan Chinese (around $ 840) for a model with 12 GB of memory and 512 GB of storage. Telephones will be sold from Saturday.
