Former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Pro Survives Plane Crash at LaGuardia That Left 2 Pilots Dead

Ancient Dancing with the stars pro Charlotte Jorgensen revealed that she survived the horrific plane crash at LaGuardia Airport earlier this month.
“A week ago tonight, after a fabulous weekend in Montreal, I boarded an Air Canada 8646 to La Guardia NYC,” Jørgensen wrote via Instagram on Sunday, March 29, while sharing a photo of the wreck.
“By now, most of you have probably heard about the collision with a fire truck on the trail. I owe my life to two brave souls, Captain Antoine Forest and first officer Mackenzie Gunther – they made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could all live,” she continued.
Jørgensen added that she was “indebted” to the two pilots who died in the crash and said “her thoughts are with their families.”
While she said she felt “nothing” the night of the accident because of the “adrenaline rushing” in her body, “the days that followed [have] has been difficult – physically, mentally and emotionally.

Fans may remember Jørgensen from season 1 of Dancing with the stars when she was partnered with the actor John O’Hurley. Both men ultimately came in second place in the competition’s inaugural season.

“Charlotte, I’m so happy you’re safe and what a heartfelt gesture of gratitude from someone who is actually here,” Lisa wrote, before referring to her 19-year-old son with O’Hurley. “As Will is now a pilot, it was very difficult to see. These two men are heroes.”

The incident occurred on March 22 when an airliner collided with a fire truck on the runway.
“A Jazz Aviation flight operating on behalf of Air Canada was involved in an incident on Runway 4 at LaGuardia Airport in which the aircraft struck a Port Authority fire and rescue vehicle that was responding to a separate incident,” read a message posted by LaGuardia’s official X account on March 23.
An unnamed flight attendant was thrown from the plane while strapped into the jump seat, but miraculously survived.
