Formula 1 Fans Can Now Explore Race Circuits With Apple’s New Maps Guide

If you are a Formula 1 fan and have your iPhone handy, you might want to check Apple Cards. Apple on Wednesday added a new guide to its Maps app featuring the race tracks for next month’s Australian Grand Prix.

Users can explore a detailed 3D version of the Albert Park Melbourne Grand Prix circuit directly in Apple Maps and find details of all 24 circuits of the season with the guide to Formula 1 circuits around the world. It can also be found on the Apple TV Formula 1 channel.

Currently, the only location done in 3D is the Albert Park map, where you can explore the F1 Pit Garage, stadiums and much more. Apple will continue to add more 3D tracks throughout the year.

Updated maps include:

  • Grand Prix Elements: Curbs are depicted on maps to match the real experience, as well as stands and pedestrian walkways, all in 3D and labeled. The 14 turns of the circuit are also labeled.
  • Pop-up locations: Participants will easily find entrance doors, toilets, water points, first aid and merchandise stands. Walking trails are marked directly on maps, with walking routes available for the stands.
  • Grand Prix Circuit Landmarks 3D Model: The Pit Building, Lakeside Stadium (Bob Jane Stadium), Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Center and the finish line are all highlighted and highlighted.
  • Melbourne Landmarks 3D Model: Participants wanting to explore further can find many of Melbourne’s landmarks detailed in 3D in Maps.

Last year, Apple paid $140 million for exclusive F1 streaming rights in the United States.
