FPL Scout: Gameweek 14 hints, tips and advice

Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to bring you tips, tricks and advice during the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.
Scout will use his expertise to provide Gameweek information, advice and tips that may prove useful in ensuring you are at the top of your mini-leagues.
The best of bees
It took a while to break Saturday’s deadlock against Burnley but, once that happened, the match came back to life and finished 3-1. Brentford now have a superb five wins and a draw from seven home matches, with a total of 16 points that only Manchester City can better.

Dango Ouattara (£6.0 million) earned Brentford another penalty – the seventh the Bees have received in the league this season. This was later noted by Igor Thiago (£6.7 million).
The Bees’ second goal came from a Jordan Henderson(£5.0 million), which was crushed by Thiago – the Brazilian’s fifth strike in three matches. His 11 goals are only behind the 14 of Erling Haaland (£14.9 million). Impressively, no one else in the game has more than seven.
In the meantime, Aaron Hickey (£4.0m) came off the mark with a clean sheet and Defensive Contribution (DefCon) points. Defenders achieve this by making 10 clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles.
Nathan Collins (£4.9 million) racked up 22 DefCon points in Gameweek 13, the most a defender has managed in a single game this season.

The projector
Although he was not credited with an assist for Thiago’s second goal, Henderson was rewarded for Ouattara’s goal in stoppage time. The midfielder also recorded DefCon points in Gameweek 13.
Only a few Premier League names created more big chances (five) between Gameweeks 6 and 13 than Henderson. One of them, Sean Longstaff (£4.9 million), is injured for the next month.
Henderson has three assists and 12 consecutive league starts, which comes in handy for this upcoming spell of match congestion.
The best of the rest
Gameweek 13 has been the most popular for FPL chip activations so far. Nearly 2,000,000 managers played a chip last weekend, with most using Free Hit or Triple Captain chips.

Newcastle defender Malick Thiaw (£4.9 million) scored twice for a total of 16 points, as a teammate Lewis Miley (£4.4 million) bagged 15 for himself.
Maxime De Cuyper (£4.3 million) and Phil Foden (£8.1 million) also reached 15 points. The latter scored early and late against Leeds, before Cody Gakpo (£7.5m) scored 14 points in a game where his Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah (£14.1 million) did not come off the bench.
In demand
This week contains two match deadlines. the first of which is intended Gameweek 14 Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. GMT.
Ahead of the deadline, Thiago is currently the most purchased asset, ahead of Foden and Jurrien Bois (£6.4 million), both of which are also in high demand.

Marcos Senesi (£5.0 million) and Moises Caicedo (£6.0 million) will be suspended in Gameweek 14, leading many managers to sell them. Meanwhile, the midfielder Ismaila Sarr (£6.7m) has an ankle problem which could keep him out of action for Crystal Palace between now and their departure for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Rank of captain
Haaland is usually the default choice, but he is on successive blanks and goes to a Fulham team that has recorded back-to-back wins.
Those with the confidence to look elsewhere might choose Bruno Fernandes (£8.9 million) or Bryan Mbeumo (£8.6m) at home to West Ham.
Liverpool’s hosting of Sunderland looks trickier than initially expected, but Mohamed Salah rested. This captaincy could prove fruitful.
Bukayo Saka (£10.1m) is also likely to be popular.
