Fujifilm is raising camera prices by up to $800

Fujifilm has increased the prices of cameras and objectives through its range, with price increases reaching hundreds of dollars. Among the hikes, there is an increase in the price of Fuji ultra-popular X100Vi from $ 1,599 to $ 1,799. The capable X-T5 went from $ 1,699 to $ 1,899. And the already very expensive GFX100 II increased from $ 7,499 to $ 8,299 – an increase of $ 800. The objective price increases seem to be a little more modest, with bumps in the range from $ 50 to $ 150.
“These price increases seem to be there to stay.”
For Fuji, the prices were a little disaster. In 2024, the company moved its supply chain for the X100Vi to Ostensibly China to help meet the overwhelming demand it awaited after the predecessor of the camera, the X100V, exploded on Tiktok and was sold to enormous markups for a large part of its lifespan. After the entry into force of the series of prices on China, Fuji returned part of the production of X100Vi to Japan. But even after concluding an agreement with the Trump administration, most imports from Japan are still affected by an additional 15%rate.
The new prices are reflected in retailers like B&H and Adorama. Moment, which sells Fuji cameras, writes in a blog post that it is not surprising that Fujifilm needs to increase prices this year “following Trump’s prices. They also do not seem temporary.” At the moment, these price increases seem to be there to stay, “writes the company. Fuji did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
A number of other cameras companies have increased prices at this stage, including Leica and Canon. Pétapixel The reports that Fuji’s price increases were set before the announcement of the new rate rates, which could put the company in a precarious position if the real rates are higher than expected. Given the mystery in progress as long as Trump’s prices are applied, to whom, at what rate and at what time, it is probably the start of price revisions.
