Fulton County, the Gift That Keeps on Giving—Judge Orders Commission to Pay Daily Fine for Defying Order – RedState

Fulton county made the headlines on Wednesday. Do you remember Georgia County, where the district prosecutor shouted TDS, Fani Willis, tried to “do” Trump to try to overthrow the 2020 elections in the state? It did not go well.

Now, the County Electoral Council is under the fire of a superior judge of the Superior Court for his refusal to respect the law:

A judge found the Committee of the County of Fulton in civil contempt in the court for having refused to comply with an order to appoint the two candidates of the local Republican Party for the County Electoral Council of Fulton.

Higher judge David Emerson ordered the commission to pay a fine of $ 10,000 a day from Friday until the organization approves the two candidates.

“The court concludes beyond reason that the Council of Commissioners did not comply with the order of this Court,” wrote Emerson in a decision.

The board of directors has so far refused to assemble the candidates so far because they have questioned the irregularities of the elections in the past. The judge had not:

In the 17 -page decision, the main judge of the Superior Court, David Emerson, said that fines – withdrawn against the board of directors as a group – would begin on Friday at noon. The fines would stop once the commission appoints the candidates of the GOP. Emerson also granted lawyer fees to the County Republican Party of Fulton, who put an action against the commissioners.

In his decision, Emerson described the commissioners as “obstinately litigious” and said that they “acted in bad faith” by not sitting the republican candidates, even after he ordered them to do so.

The members of the Board of Directors did not approve the candidates, both of the electoral criticisms, during a 2-2 vote in party line last week. Three Democrats from the Seven People Commission were absent at the time of the vote.

The Democrats tried to appear all the highest and virtuous for challenging the judge. Commissioners Dana Barrett and Mo Ivory spoke of the steps of the Superior Court of the County of Fulton before the decision:

“I understood that when I voted, there could be consequences for my actions,” said Barrett. “So I’m going to face these consequences with my head high, because I do not vote for people who actively work to undermine our elections.”

It looks good, but it could cost you $ 10,000 a day.

Georgia’s republican activist and one of the targets of Bani Willis’ Crusade, Amy Kremer, has tweeted her congratulations:

Judge Emerson judged that the Council of Commissioners acted in bad faith and was “stubbornly disputed” by refusing to respect local law.

The court ordered fines of $ 10,000 per day from August 29, 2025 until they comply. 💥

They also received the order to pay the lawyer fees @fultonco_ga_gop.
