Games Done Quick’s Back to Black 2026 event kicks off tomorrow

Hot on the heels of AGDQ in January, Games Done Quick is hosting its second speedrunning event of the year, Back to Black 2026, starting tomorrow, February 5th. The four-day event is hosted by Black in a Flash and raises funds for Race Forward, a nonprofit organization that works across all communities to combat systemic racism.

Back to Black is timed at the start of Black History Month and highlights the vast talent pool in the Black speedrunning community. Some races, like those for Hades II, Donkey Kong Country And Silent Hill 4were teased when Back to Black 2026 was announced last year. The full schedule has plenty of other races worth checking out, though, like a co-op race. Plants vs. Zombies: replanted on February 5 or an Any% series of Barbie Diary: High School Mystery on February 6.

Back to Black 2026 will be live on Games Done Quick’s Twitch and YouTube channels from Thursday, February 5 to Sunday, February 8.
