Louisville football 2025: Win total, ACC outlook as Jeff Brohm constructs another CFP contender

Jeff Brohm has established a new standard for Louisville, winning no less than nine games in one or the other of his first two years with the program. His 10 victories in 2023 were the most cardinals since they joined the ACC in 2014. If his heavy approach to the transfer clicks for a third consecutive season, Louisville should be back in the race for an appearance of a match for the title of conference and with this, a possible place in the playoff series. Jody Demling of Cardinal Authority joined Bud Elliott in the series of summer schools of coverage 3 to preview expectations for cardinals this fall.
What are the issues of Louisville in 2025?
The excitement abounds in Louisville this season, and for a good reason. Brohm has not yet given fans of the cardinals, which is something other than optimism with the hot start of its mandate, and it was another successful offseason in which the program won a promising quarter of transfer to Miller Moss and 31 other new arrivals via the portal. As high as to build lists by transfer road, Brohm has established a high floor for two years, indicating that it has an eye for the right type of talent.
“Jeff Brohm, the first year, he took them to the ACC championship match,” said Demling. “Second year, they win nine games, they leave at the end and they beat Kentucky to recover this rivalry. It is a fans that is swollen.”
Louisville is the type of program that should benefit from the expansion of the playoffs in that he does not have to win the AC to win a place in the support. Fanduel Sportsbook gives cardinals the third best odds of the conference (+360) to make the playoffs, behind only Clemson and Miami. Beating one of these teams for a place in the ACC championship match is probably what it would take to enter the field.
Player in small groups that everyone needs to know
Large recipient Chris Bell has increased his catches, films and affected in each of the last two years, and if he comes out of this momentum in his last year, he should be by far the receiver threat of the list. He finished second in the team of this department last year and was the return receiver after the departure of Ja’Corey Brooks for the NFL.
“If they are going to be really, really good, it’s a guy who will work to be a kind of NFL draft on the second day. He’s a body. He’s pruning, the ability. He will just have to work there,” said Demling. “He gets penalties. I think he can reduce this and he can get more affected. He will have more targets.”
Bell culminated last season with 43 catches for 737 yards and four affected. Its total score must increase so that cardinals have an effective passage attack, and with an increase in targets, it should find the goals area at a higher rate. The old three -star recruit is being flirted with the brand of 1,000 yards given its trajectory in the last three campaigns.
Total prospects total
Fanduel set the total of Louisville’s victory at 8.5 with juice at the end. Nine victories may be sufficient to bring the cardinals into the conference championship match, but that would it impress enough the CFP selection committee to consider them for the support if they are not below a League title? Reaching the two -digit brand would remove a lot of uncertainty of the equation.
“The Pitt and SMU games are the ones they will tell you how good Louisville is. And if they can win these two games, I feel quite confident of what they can do,” said Demling. “I think that success is to look at the eight victories and think, this team, we can reach 10 victories. It’s a bit crazy to really think about it, but that’s how the calendar establishes.”
Help the cardinals are their eight home games. This is only the second time in the history of the school, Louisville will suit the house several times in a single season. And adversaries who must go to the L & N Federal Credit Union Stadium are not the most intimidating. Clemson is, of course, a major challenge, but cardinals should be favored to the rest of their seven visitors.
