German diplomats call for end to Israeli settler violence
On Friday, the German ambassador to Israel condemned the assault of the Jewish settlers against the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
“The violence of extremist settlers is not only reprehensible when they target [Israel Defense Forces] Reservists. They regularly harass and attack the Palestinian communities and this must be arrested, “posted Steffen Seibert in English on X.
Seibert responded to a publication on the same canal by Oliver Owcza, head of the German diplomatic mission in Ramallah.
“The escalation of the violence of the colonists and the resulting pressure on local communities has led to an increasing number of trips,” wrote Owcza. “This violates the essential rights of these communities and must stop urgently!”
Since the massacre of the Palestinian Militia of Hamas in southern Israel on October 7, 2023 and the Gaza War that resulted, the Jewish settlers have intensified attacks against the Palestinians in the West Bank.
