Burning Man Threatened by Dust Storm, Flood Warning

Flame participants faced the threat of dust storms and heavy rains at the opening of the festival, the National Weather Service (NWS) issuing weather alerts for the North and the Center of Nevada.

THE San Francisco Chronicle reported that the campsites that had been erected early were damaged after a dust storm struck the desert before the festival start.
A dust opinion published on Saturday by the NWS said that a “blowing wall of blowing dust” coming out of the Playa areas of the Smoke Rock and Black Rock desert moved to the north at around 30 mi / h.

An update of the organizers of the festival published early Monday said that the rain and the wind had stopped at Black Rock City and that the ground was starting to dry.
