The Coyuchi organic bedding brand recently launched its own organic mattress, combining cotton, wool and latex Dunlop at the top of the coils wrapped individually. Although the coyuchi linen sheets are excellent, I was a little nervous to try the first mattress effort of the company. Bedding is not a mattress, after all, and expertise does not always transfer through efforts. In this case, however, this is the case. Coyuchi’s organic natural remat mattress is wonderfully firm without being too firm and perfect for those of us who do not have a sleep style and tend to sleep in all directions – on the side, back, stomach. I have never been uncomfortable.

The design begins with reels locked up on a wool cushion, then, like a midwest dip, layers in smaller coils, latex, then wool, and garnishes it with organic cotton blanket. There is surprisingly a good on -board support given the distance between the coils and the top, and the mattress also offers good isolation of movement. Coyuchi says that the natural Rem can be used with or without a box spring. I tested it for a few months on a box spring, then spent a week with just on the ground and I did not notice any difference. 11 inches deep, there is room for a topper, although I did not feel the need.

Cotton and wool layers are organic certified GOTS, while the latex Dunlop includes GOLS certification. The material is defeated, which is ideal for anyone embarrassed by industrial dyes. As for most of these organic options, coyuchi is made without chemicals, foam or colues.
