Mark Sanchez faces felony charge, allegedly caused ‘severe’ injuries

The ancient quarter of the USC, Mark Sanchez, faces a crime accusation after his physical altercation with a 69-year-old truck driver this weekend left the other man with what the prosecutor described on Monday as “important and very serious” injuries.
The driver, Perry Tole, resident of Indiana, also brought a civil action on Monday against Sanchez, alleging that he had undergone a serious permanent disfigurement, a loss of function, other physical injuries, emotional distress and other damage “following the actions of the former NFL player, 38 years old.
Marion County Prosecutor Indiana Ryan Mears told journalists on Monday at a press conference that Sanchez was accused of a crime of five assault and injuries involving serious bodily injuries, which, according to Mears, could lead to one to six years in prison.
After a preliminary affidavit of the probable cause was deposited on Saturday by the metropolitan police of Indianapolis, Sanchez was accused of three crimes: assault and injuries which caused injury, unauthorized entrance to a vehicle with motor and public intoxication.
A more in -depth investigation carried out by the IMBP preceded the deposit of a second affidavit of probable cause on Monday morning, which led to the accusation of crime against Sanchez.
“Once we have received additional information on the victim’s current state of health, it has become clear to us that additional accusations were to be filed,” said Mears at the joint press conference with IMPD chief Chris Bailey.
Mears added that other accusations may be linked to the incident late Friday evening and early Saturday morning in an alley outside a hotel in downtown Indianapolis.
“One of the things I am going to insist with everyone is that we are still in the early stages of this investigation,” said Mears. “The chief and his team have a number of search mandates that are still underway. They are still looking for additional information. This is by no means the end of this investigation. This does not mean that these will be the final accusations that we will pursue.”
Sanchez stayed in the hospital and was in a stable state on Monday morning. According to court documents, the 2009 Rose Bowl MVP was charged on Sunday for the offense and a deposit of $ 300 was filed on his behalf at that time.
Mears said on Monday that since the case would now be transferred to a major criminal court, it would be up to the new court to decide whether an additional deposit would be issued on the basis of the new accusation.
Lawyers James H. Voyles Jr. and Jennifer M. Lukemeyer, listed in court documents as a Sanchez representative in the criminal case, refused to comment on Times.
A first hearing scheduled for Tuesday morning was postponed to November 4.
According to the first Affidavit of the IMPD, based on hotel surveillance images and a declaration made by Tole to the police, Tole had fell off his truck on the hotel’s loading quays when he was doing his job in a company that recycles and eliminates the commercial oil.
Sánchez would have confronted tole and said that the hotel director had told Sanchez that he did not want the driver to replace the cooking oil. Fox Sports analyst, who was in town to call on Sunday’s raid-colts match for Fox Sports, would have felt alcohol at that time.
During the altercation that followed, Sanchez threw tole against a wall and also on the floor, indicates the affidavit, before Tole, believing that he was in danger, spranged with peppery gas and finally the bead.
“What strikes us is certainly that this is a situation that didn’t need to perform,” said Mears on Monday. “… We are literally talking about people who fight for a parking space or a dispute in the place where people park, and that has resulted in incredibly serious injuries.”
Tole suffered a laceration on the left cheek and was transported to another hospital than Sanchez, the Affidavit said. Max Lewis from Wxin-TV to Indianapolis reported on Sunday that Tole’s family said that the cut “crossed her cheek and touched her tongue”, making the speech difficult.
Lewis also published photos which, according to him, had been provided by the family and showed the driver in a hospital bed with sheets that seemed to have several blood spots near the cut -off area on the man’s cheek. Tole, whose eyes had been hidden to protect his identity at the time, carries what seems to be a Minerva and is connected to monitors.
Later Sunday, members of the Tole family told the New York Post: “He is fine”.
They added: “We are first talking to lawyers. We want to pay attention to what is said.”
The civil prosecution of Tole, deposited on Monday in front of the upper court of the county of Marion, indicates that he underwent “important injuries to the head, the jaw and the neck”.
The employer of Sanchez, Fox Corporation, is designated as co-accused in the civil prosecution, for negligence in terms of hiring, retention and supervision. Fox Sports did not immediately respond to a request for comments from the Times.
Tole requests compensatory and punitive interest damages which will be determined at the trial.
