Phillies ace Zack Wheeler diagnosed with blood clot in right arm, placed on 15-day IL

Washington (AP) – The Philadelphia Phillies placed Ace Zack Wheeler on the 15 -day injured list on Saturday with a blood clot in his right arm.
Dave Dombrowski, the president of baseball operations for the Phillies, said after a 2-0 defeat in Washington that Wheeler had been diagnosed with a “blood clothes of the upper upper members”.

“There is not much that we can say on this subject at the moment,” said Dombrowski, who congratulated doctors for finding the clot. “It could have been a much more trying situation than it is.”
Wheeler launched on Friday against Washington and was limited to five rounds for the second consecutive departure. The right -hander granted two points and four strokes.
The 35-year-old wheeler has a 10-5 file this season with an MPM of 2.71. He had 195 stick withdrawals in 149 2/3 heats.
