Golden State Warriors jersey history – No. 22 – Glenn Robinson III (2019-20)
The Golden State Warriors have had more than 600 players put on more than 60 jersey numbers used by their players over the over 75 years of existence that the team appreciated in its rich and legendary history.
Founded in 1946 at the Association of America basketball era (BAA – A Precursor League of the NBA), the team called the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland and even San Diego.
To commemorate the players who were carrying these figures, Warriors Wire covers the whole history of Jersey’s numbers and the players who have sported them since the team’s foundation. For this article, we start with the 17th of the 18 players who wore jersey No. 22 for the Warriors.
This player would be Golden State Wing Alun Glenn Robinson III. After completing his university career in Michigan, Robinson was resumed with the 40th overall selection of the 2014 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The native of Gary, in Indiana, would play the first 25 games of his professional career with the T-Wolves before being cut by Minnesota. He also played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons before signing with the Dubs in 2019.
His stay with the team covered only 48 games before he was handed over to the Sixers in 2020. During his time to adapt to the Warriors, Robinson only wore jersey 22 and collected 12.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
