Google critics think the search remedies ruling is a total whiff

While the decision of the judge Amit Mehta blocks some of the predatory practices of Google, it does not respect this historic moment and shows that its decision was taken on the basis of speculative arguments concerning the generative AI, in which Google, because of its monopolies and its distribution advantages, is already a dominant actor. Research is one of the biggest avenues for future IA requests, and it is clear that rather than doing the difficult thing, judge Mehta was much more willing to let Google continue to fold the internet and our economy to his will than to enforce the law, which is designed to create a fair playground that benefits the American people and new innovative businesses.
