Readers sound off on Ozzy Osbourne, short shorts and voter turnout

Ozzy lent his voice to the anxiety of his generation
Cibolo, Texas: The world is a little calmer, a little less chaotic and much less fun with the death of Ozzy Osbourne. Although the media will undoubtedly tell its decades of solo success and celebrity of reality TV, I want to remember Ozzy as an architect of a sound revolution.
Ozzy and Black Sabbath arrived at a pivotal moment in the history of music. The sun was lying on the Beatles era and the optimism of the energy of flowers that defined the late 1960s. The world became darker and more uncertain, and music had to reflect this. Black Sabbath, with Ozzy’s unmistakable voice at the helm, answered this call. They were not only a group, they were a primary cry against the anxieties of the time. They did not only play rock and roll, they forged a new genre: the heavy metal. The music of the Sabbath, imbued with riffs of blues and infused with a Gothic sensitivity, gave the floor to a generation struggling with disillusionment and fear. They were the soundtrack of a world that felt more and more out of control.
Ozzy was more than a simple singer, he was a symbol. He was the prince of darkness, the madman, but under theaters and controversies deposit a vulnerability and a real link with his audience. He gave us permission to embrace darkness, to recognize uncomfortable truths and to find Catharsis in the face of despair.
Thank you, Ozzy, for music, madness and metal. Your inheritance will have repercussions for future generations. You were, and you will always be, the sponsor of the metal. John di Genio
Perpetuity
Cortlandt Manor, NY: Rest in Peace, Ozzy Osbourne, The Prince of Darkness and a Heavy Metal icon. His biggest inheritance and contribution to the company will be all the brass bands who will continue to play “Ironman” and “Crazy Train” during the dead and the shows at halftime during the football matches of the school and the college. Michael P. Devine
I can’t “naked”
Brooklyn: I am a 71 -year -old man who is not particularly wise. I also do not try to be a sage when I ask if it is really necessary for comfort so that women wear shorts as short as underwear-sometimes shorter, it seems. Men are wired to be excited by a woman’s bare thighs. Now, I appreciate seeing a pretty woman as much as the next guy, but go. You ask men to spend their day making the rabbit stroke while looking at all the proven legs passing. Once at home, we expect it to activate the desires that they spend a lot of psychic energy that deactivates during the day. No wonder there are all these advertisements on erectile dysfunction, most actors being young men who should not have this problem. Here are some sage tips, ladies: save it for the room. We would all be better if you did. Martin Bunis
Point assessment
Richmond Hill: This is a quotation from the former representative Beto O’Rourke: “I think that the Democrats in the past have too often been more concerned with being reasonable than being in power, and we have seen that the Republicans are concerned with being in power, no matter what is good.” It made me realize how true it is. Ene Kelly
Individual guilt
Massapequa, Li: Even the Gestapo had no masks. It was useful in Nuremberg later. Paul Pepe
Political pressure
Urica, ny: reading a letter from the voice Marianne Tepedino made us shake our heads. Le Point, Marianne, is not if you think that Stephen Colbert is funny or if you like her. You can always change the channel. The fact is that an American president should never be able to dictate who is on television. This is called freedom of expression – you can look for it! So Marianne, you stick to Metv and claim that we all live in Mayberry. Maga counts on you. Meanwhile, once-Grand CBS, the house of Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrow, continues to dishonor himself by hiding from political pressure, from the cancellation of “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour” to the cancellation of Colbert. Jeff and Joan Ganeles
Theocratic takeover
Bronx: Many people did not seem to know the 2025 project of the Heritage Foundation before Donald Trump won the presidency last November. Now that the “Christian” white nationalist agenda of the 2025 project is implemented, people are painfully aware of the management in which this country is heading. The Trump administration has tried to withdraw attention from this and its decision not to publish Epstein files by creating various distractions. These draw the attention of another secret plan: Project Esther. He seeks to remove the separation of the Church and the State. What they essentially want is a society like “The Handmaid’s Tale”. Be ready for the fight of your life. Jonathan Solomon
Arrow arrow
Chicago: Although I do not know that it is true, I would be ready to bet that if Trump speaks in his sleep, the word “hoax” is that most often repeated. It seems that whenever it is back in a corner, he always uses it as his major defense. For example, the arrival of Covid was a hoax, just like his indictment and, of course, there were the conclusions of Robert Mueller. Now there is his link with Jeffrey Epstein, which can be included in this secret file chosen by the Ministry of Justice. It will be interesting to see if in the future, historians also refer to the years of Trump in the White House like a hoax, or simply a bad joke. Bob Ory
Stained star
Petaluma, California: Diddy expects to return? I doubt that the music industry welcomes it again in the lap. But he could certainly do a Party of Epstein Expert Party for Trump, don’t you think? Bob canning
Remix ‘magic’
Bronx: The dishes have stalled a little recently after taking a quick start. With 28 remaining home games, I think they could use a boost now and move forward because they hope to go deep in the playoffs. I offer this rallying cry to the fans to sing at home on the riff “oh, ho, it’s magic” (by pilot). This is perfectly aligned with the names of our superstars that go beyond the order of the strikers: “Oh, Ho, Ho, Mets Magic, you know / ‘Ya Gotta Believe’ how it is so / Presto: Lindo ‘, Soto,’ Lonzo / Mets Magic, you know!” Play the catchy melody on the central screen and the turn is played: “Lindo’-Soto-” Lonzo “comes to life-with cameras that project the faces of fans that sing aloud at the Citi Field. Let’s go. Fred Smith
Separate inheritances
Manhattan: In the Lynne Henderson voice: the import of slaves was prohibited in 1808 in the United States. African and Caribbean slaves were not imported here after that. The population of slaves increased from 1.4 million to more than 4 million slaves in 1860. This came from forced reproduction, rapes and other despicable acts to increase the slave population in the United States, there are no links between the American descendants of slavery and the African or the Caribbean; Our stories, cultures and lines are not the same. While others can celebrate juneteenth with the Americans, our colors are red, white and blue. Our homeland is the United States of America and we are black Americans. I suggest you read a few American history books on us, slavery. Heyward Johnson Jr.
More severe punishment
Brooklyn: I continue to read on people who lead 60 miles on time in the streets of the city fleeing the police, and street people are wildly fireing firearms and killing people like speeding drivers. The laws must be modified with a minimum sentence of 25 years. I am not sorry for these criminals, whatever their personal life situations. Don Adler
Vote
Pearl River, NY: To all New York voters, don’t sit on the day of the ballot. Go to the polls and vote. If the participation rate is low on election day, Zohran Mamdani will easily win. Throw your vote against Mamdani. Vote for anyone except him and prevent him from destroying this big city. Your life and your lifestyle depend on it. Don’t be stupid. Go out and vote. Robert Brennan
