The Best Down Comforter Deals for Winter Nights (2025)

Down comforter deals are usually easier to find during the warmer months of the year, but we’ve put together a few worth trying before it gets too cold outside. Down comforters are one of my favorite products to try. I live in northern Illinois, and this time of year it’s usually snowing, dangerously cold, or both. (This week I have negative temperatures of -10 degrees Fahrenheit to look forward to.) Add to that my generally low iron levels and I’m basically always cold. I have tried several blankets for our down comforter buying guide in my daily life over the months. I’ve slept in them alone and used them with comforters and throws, just like you would. Down comforters are generally a fairly large investment, but several of the best options are on sale. I’ve highlighted the top picks below.
Down comforters are popular for good reason. Down is an excellent insulator, so down sleep products can keep you warm without too much weight compared to other types of duvets. It also holds up well over time and can last for decades with proper care.

WIRED Featured Offers:
Quince Premium Down Comforter for $160 ($139 off)
We’ve seen this comforter sell for less and more, but you’re still getting a great deal on the best down comforter I’ve tested. It has a crinkly, starchy, comfortable cotton sateen outer cover that rustles when you move (but not so loudly that it disturbs your sleeping partner, unless you’re a human tornado while you sleep). I love how fluffy this comforter stays all night long. Baffle construction keeps everything secure and evenly distributed. It’s warm but not heavy, fluffy but not too airy, and crinkly but not noisy. It strikes the perfect balance of everything I look for in a down comforter, and it does it at a price that doesn’t make me wince.
Brooklinen All-Season Down Comforter for $299 ($100 Off)
This classic down comforter is a little heavier than the Quince, with a cotton sateen cover that’s both silky and durable. The down filling is made from Hutterite clusters that stay dense while you sleep, so you’ll never have that cold waking moment because all the innards of the blanket have shifted. Hutterite piles are one of the commonly used types of goose down, Hungarian being the other. Both are excellent; Hutterite is generally more affordable and slightly softer. This comforter is also quieter than the Quince, so it might be a better option if you want to move around in your sleep with abandon.
The Company Store Legends Hotel Premium Alberta Medium Warmth Down Comforter for $352 ($117 off) — Use code MWS25
This classic, luxurious duvet comes from The Company Store, which has specialized in making down products since the early 1980s. We tested the Medium Warmth version. The entire experience is crisp, plush, and premium, with impressive fill power that feels heavier and taller than other blankets sold with higher warmth ratings. Tester Kat Merck also liked the 15-inch drop length, which will allow couples to share comfortably. Use promo code MWS25 to save.
