Grab the Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet for its lowest price yet ahead of Black Friday

Amazon’s tablets are known for their affordability and tight integration with its proprietary apps like Amazon Prime, Prime Video, etc. If you’re already a frequent Amazon customer, I especially recommend looking into the Amazon HD Fire 8 tablet while it’s on sale for $54.99 (was $99.99).

It’s hard to beat this price, at almost 50% off the cheapest option. The cheapest model comes with 32GB of storage, but you can also get the same tablet with 64GB of storage for $84.99 (was $129.99). If you have an old tablet to trade in, you can also get an extra 20% off your purchase.

A small note: I would be I recommend paying $15 more (or $30 for 64GB) for the model without lock screen ads, even though it costs more. It’s a one-time fee that helps you avoid unwanted ads on your lock screen, and Amazon products already have a lot of that to deal with.

In our Amazon HD Fire 8 review, we highlighted its affordable price and small conveniences like camera placement and port selection with support for headphone jacks and USB-C. Amazon has since refreshed this model with an even better 2024 version.

The Amazon HD Fire 8 is about as simple as you can get in a tablet. However, if all you want to do is browse the web, shop online, play casual games, etc., this is enough to achieve that. It’s also a good choice for people who simply need a large, portable screen for taking notes.

The Amazon HD Fire 8 has since been replaced by the Amazon HD Fire 10 in our best-value tablets, but it’s so poorly upgraded that I wouldn’t encourage you to get it unless you want a larger screen.
