Amazon Big Deal Days runs October 7-8, and Lifehacker shares the best deals, based on product reviews, comparisons, and price trackers.

You have to be careful with sales; retailers often raise prices before sales to make the discount seem big, but it’s not the case of these Echo smart glasses. Amazon really seems to be trying to get rid of a usable but unpopular product, so they sell them for very cheap. The daily price of Big Deals is $119.99, down from $329.99. That’s a savings of 64% on perfectly respectable audio sunglasses and prescription-ready frames.

These are Echo Gen 3 glasses released in 2023, so they’re not hopelessly outdated, they just haven’t sold as well as Amazon might have hoped. But they’re not bad. They connect hands-free to any Alexa device, so you can bark “Hey, Alexa” and use Amazon’s agent just like you would on any device: play music, answer a question, control your smart home, all right from your glasses.

Are they as cool and useful as the Ray-Ban Metas? Not even close, but no one is selling Metas for $119. I mean, it’s a low price for a pair of silly glasses that do nothing other than help you see better, so if you’re looking for a second pair of glasses or sunglasses and/or use Alexa, I recommend taking advantage of this deal.

What do you think of it so far?
