Hailey Bieber Just Gave ‘Toasty Makeup’ a Moody Fall Twist
If you need further convincing to try the toasty makeup trend this fall, Hailey Bieber is here to convert you. The 28-year-old Rhode founder just combined every cozy trend we’re currently obsessing over—and convinced us that there’s no such thing as too toasty.
Last night, Bieber brought a mix of toasty makeup and moody glamor to an event tied to her Chase Sapphire Reserve partnership. While many toasted makeup looks lean into eyeshadow as a focal point—and we can see a soft, cinnamon shadow peeking out from under Bieber’s sleek ’90s shades—she added some drama to the trend with an ultra glossy brown lip.

Toasty makeup effortlessly brings best parts of sun-kissed summer makeup—natural flush, baked bronzer, and shimmering finishes—into fall. The look radiates warmth and softness. Caramel, copper, and coffee tones are used to create definition around the eyes and cheekbones, and orange-toned blushes can add an autumnal pop of color.
Hailey Bieber is a frequent reference in toasty makeup tutorials. Some of her most viral beauty moments, from glazed donut nails to latte glam, evoked the trend long before it was named. Bieber is known for creating soft lines in her makeup, often blurring out her lip liner with her fingers before topping it with a signature gloss, and opting for light, smokey brown eye makeup rather than bold liner.
It’s generally safe to assume that Bieber is rocking her Rhode product line, and this particular trend lends itself perfectly to her viral Pocket Blush in shade “Toasted Teddy.” To recreate her full look, the iconic Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment in shade PB&J or Espresso also fit the bill.
Bieber’s latest ensemble also proves that this fall’s toasty trend cycle extends beyond makeup. Her glossy, slightly wavy lob is a perfect example of the Bambi brunette hair color trend: “Think gentle caramel and beige tones woven through a brunette base to give it a velvety, doe-eyed glow—hence the name,” hair colorist Mark Leeson told Glamour.
She also appears to be wearing a version of the toasted manicure trend, coined by celebrity nail artist Tom Bachik. Similar in philosophy to toasty makeup, the mani trend illuminates the natural nail with “golden-hour tones—like pink iridescence and glowy satin chrome effects,” Bachik told Glamour. Bieber’s usual almond-shaped nails seem to be adorned with a slightly reflective champagne French tip.
Paired with a velvety, perfectly fitted mocha-mouse dress, Bieber’s beauty choices are (extremely characteristically) right on trend this fall. If she keeps up with this level of toasted inspo, we’ll be channelling cinnamon shimmer all season long.
