Hakeem Jeffries Calls Operation Epic Fury a War ‘That is Going to End in Failure’ – RedState

The Democratic reaction to the removal of one of the most evil people of modern times, former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, from the land has been hysterical, unhinged and, frankly, juvenile. We have the usual America-hating suspects, like Reps. Rashida Tlaib (MI-10) and Ilhan Omar (MN-05), who are freaking out, and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was busy peddling conspiracy theories (I’m almost surprised he didn’t bring up Russian influence).
But House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) really took the cake Monday, essentially predicting that military operations against Iran would inevitably lead to failure. It almost seems like he wants his country to experience disaster. This is truly disturbing, even for a Democrat.
Here’s what he told CNN anchor Kate Bolduan – you be the judge:
The American people want us to focus on making their lives better and more affordable; not get involved in another endless war in the Middle East that will end in failure.
This administration has found the resources, it has found billions of dollars to make bombs, but it cannot find the money to actually bring down the high cost of living here in the United States of America.
Now you know exactly how the left will characterize this in the event of a blowback, which absolutely should happen. They will say that is not what he meant; he meant that Americans don’t want to see another long war like in Iraq or Afghanistan – he would certainly never say that he wanted them to fail in that case, oh god no.
But that’s what he said. You can watch the tape here (commentary comes at 1:31).
He doubled in this clip. After 45 seconds, he said: “The American people, once again, are not interested in having their taxpayer dollars spent on another failed war of regime change.” »
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-New York) says the United States is not supposed to be the world’s policeman.
Now, Biden, Obama, Bush, Clinton, shall I continue?
Jeffries is a hypocrite to the core. Everything he says is a lie.

They can spin it like a tornado, but his words seem perfectly clear to me: this operation is already a failure. Good, Hakeem.

Jeffries opened the interview by saying he had not been offered any justification for the attack. This immediately aged poorly because House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-04) revealed Monday that intelligence showed a massive Iranian attack was imminent.
RedState’s Ward Clark told the following story:
House Speaker Mike Johnson said the U.S. strike on Iran was a defensive operation designed to avoid “staggering losses” to U.S. troops and assets, arguing that waiting for Iran to strike first would have resulted in devastating losses.

Jeffries wasn’t finished, of course; he had more crying and moaning to get out of his system. He seems to want to stop the operation in mid-flight:
And that’s why power was explicitly given to the House and Senate. And Donald Trump intentionally chose not to appear before Congress, which is why we’re going to force this vote on a war powers resolution and make sure that we do everything we can to compel it at this point.
Can you think of a stupider time to end this mission? Right in the middle? As surviving members of the regime and IRGC forces feverishly prepare for their return?
The Internet was not kind; here are some of the answers:
Predicting (hoping for?) American failure is an absolutely brutal vision from a Democratic leader.
This guy doesn’t have a single functioning brain cell in his head.
Maybe one day this annoying tool will become American instead of Democratic.
Jeffries is a traitor, he WANTS the United States to fail. He hates our president so much and he hates our country.
There were plenty of others that are NSFW, but you get the idea.
Hakeem has said a lot of controversial and thoughtless things in his time, but this might be his ugliest moment yet.
Editor’s note: For decades, past presidents have done nothing but talk. Now, Donald Trump eliminates the Iranian threat once and for all.
