Hamas Unlikely to Comply Fully With Trump’s Peace Deal – RedState

Reaction of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, PFLP and Qatar
Before the announcement of Trump’s peace agreement, Hamas had repeatedly stressed that he would not discuss disarmament. The group maintains that its weapons are a “national law” and that any presentation on the issue will only come after the creation of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as capital. The main media and politician of Hamas, Taher al-nunu, residing in Qatar, said: “Hamas’ arms will remain linked to the creation of a Palestinian state.” Another senior Hamas, Mahmoud Mardawi, said: “Resistance weapons have never been used to attack anyone, but for freedom and independence.”
The first reactions of Hamas on Monday, immediately after the announcement of the peace agreement, came by a source with Reuters. The source of Hamas said that the peace plan is “completely biased in [toward] Israel “and imposes” impossible conditions “in Hamas”. What Trump has proposed was the entire adoption of all Israeli conditions, which do not give to the Palestinian people or the residents of Gaza to starine legitimate rights, “said the source.
After Trump and Netanyahu held a joint press conference to announce the peace agreement, Mardawi said: “Trump’s plan has not reached Hamas or no Palestinian party so far. He with Palestinian factions.”
The second largest terrorist organization in Gaza after Hamas is the terrorist group of Islamic jihad. Islamic jihad has published a statement saying that Trump’s plan put an end to war “is a recipe for continuous assault against the Palestinian people. Thanks to this, Israel tries, via the United States, to impose what it could not achieve during the war. Therefore, we consider the American-Israéli declaration
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) is a small terrorist organization in Gaza which fought alongside the two dominant terrorist organizations, Hamas and Islamic Djihad. A main member of the PFLP, Abu Ali Hassan, said: “Trump’s plan is a recipe for managing war and prolonging it, not for its end. [It is] A desperate attempt to separate Gaza from the Palestinian territorial entity. “”
The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed Al -Thani, said: “We adopted Trump’s plan at the Hamas negotiation delegation and the conversation with them was general. We and Egypt have clarified our main objective in Hamas – ending the war. Hamas acted in a responsible manner and promised to study the plan.” Al-Thani added: “The plan is at its beginnings and needs development. We are trying to create a path that protects Palestinian rights. We must rely on the current and make it effective and successful.” This last quote sounds like Hamas insists on changes to the plan.
Reaction of Israeli politicians
After meeting Trump, Netanyahu published a video in which he said that Trump’s peace plan was an effort to isolate Hamas around the world. According to Netanyahu, “now the whole world, including the Arab and Muslim world, puts pressure on Hamas to accept the conditions we have established with President Trump – to release all our hostages, both the living and the deceased, while the FDI remains in most strip.” Netanyahu stressed that Israel is still opposed to a Palestinian state and that the peace plan does not establish it. “This is not written in the agreement. We firmly oppose a Palestinian state. President Trump said he understood this, and, of course, we will not accept it.”
The Israeli Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich and the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir are the two most politically conservative members of the Israeli Knesset. They are members of the Netanyahu coalition. GVir and Smotrich both opposed several times at the end of the Gaza War until Hamas is militarily defeated, the entire Gaza is reoccupied by the FDI and the West Bank is annexed.
Smotrich published two declarations on X. The first statement in response to Netanyahu’s apology on reading the Qatar as follows: “Today is the anniversary of the Munich Agreement, signed on 29.9.1938. Then, as now, Churchill’s declaration resonates:” England could have chosen between disgrace and war; He chose inconvenience and therefore goes to war as well. “The crawling apologies to a state that supports and finances terrorism is a shame.”
In response to Trump’s peace plan, Smotrich criticized celebrations on the peace plan as prematurely, and said that the plan abandoned “real achievements on the ground for political illusions”. Smotrich is opposed to authorize it a Palestinian security force in Gaza and to allow Qatar to become a “central actor” in negotiations. Smotrich says that it is a “historic missed opportunity to finally free oneself from the obstacles of Oslo, a resounding diplomatic failure, to close your eyes and turn your back on all the lessons of October 7. In my opinion, this too will end in tears.”
However, Smotrich hopes that Hamas will reject the plan so that the FDI can finish work in the right direction. Smotrich continued: “Is there still a chance that something sweet comes from this bitterness? [Will] The obstinacy of the enemy saves us once again from ourselves, as it has done several times in the past, and reality will force us to return to the path of heroism and victory, and to take responsibility for our fate and our security, this time with broader international support? “”
Itamar Ben Gvir responded to Netanyahu’s apologies to Qatar with the following message on X: “The attack on Hamas leaders, planners of the October 7 massacre in the enemy of Qatar, was an important, fair and supreme moral. It is time to tell the world the truth: Qatar is a state that supports terrorism, finances terrorism.
Girvir tackled Trump’s peace plan at a meeting. GVir would have said: “The imminent agreement is dangerous for the security of Israel.” GVir added: “I will speak widely, Mr. Prime Minister, but it must already be said that it harms security; it is full of holes and does not reach the war objectives that we set ourselves. True, we are all delighted with the return of the hostages, but the price here is inconceivable and I will have more to say about this.”
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Gideon Sa’ar, warns that Hamas could try to “escape from the implementation” of the peace plan. Sa’ar added that Hamas is “only responsible” for the continuation of the war by refusing to end the conflict. Sa’ar has reiterated that Hamas has not yet accepted the plan and expressed skepticism on this subject: “We know, according to the past, that they [Hamas] You usually want to open and close, try to change the terms and escape implementation. But we will see. “”
Netanyahu’s political party is called Likoud. The comrade of Likud Tally Gotliv predicted: “It is clear that the day when cruel and murderous Hamas will not accept to return all our hostages within 72 hours. Only someone who does not understand Hamas ethics would believe that Hamas will make all our hostages and accept the outline.” Gotliv added: “I hope I am completely wrong this time.”
Trump’s ultimatum
Trump announced that he would give the Hamas’ terrorist organization “three or four days” to accept his Gaza Peace Plan. “Hamas will do it or not, and if it is not the case, it will be a very sad end.” Trump was asked if there was room for negotiations on the peace plan. “Not much,” he replied.
My analysis
Since October 7, 2023, Hamas has rejected or undermined each ceasefire and the peace plan that has been offered to them. On a few times that Hamas has not completely rejected a plan, they respond with a counter-offer that they know that Israel will reject. At the time again, Hamas accepted a ceasefire, they intentionally acted in bad faith by not respecting the rules of the agreement. When Hamas ignores the terms of a ceasefire, they always blame Israel, then the international press with Hamas, ignores the facts and spreads throughout the world.
Here is a short story of attempts to end the war with Hamas since October 7, 2023, and why each attempt collapsed.
On November 24, 2023, an agreement was concluded to have a four-day ceasefire in exchange for the publication of 50 of the more than 200 hostages of Hamas retained at that time. After four days, an additional two -day extension was established where Hamas published 20 additional hostages. Then, a second extension in a single day was accepted, under which Hamas published 16 additional hostages. However, Hamas refused to release more hostages after the two extensions, and the IDF resumed war against Hamas.
On May 27, 2024, a cease-fire agreement was proposed in Hamas, and they responded with a counter-offer that they knew that Israel would reject. Hamas refused to stop fighting unless the FDIs completely withdraw from Gaza. Hamas has also refused to provide a complete list of the hostages they would publish. The ceasefire has never been made due to Hamas’ refusal to accept the conditions.
One day before Trump was sworn in for his second warrant as president, a ceasefire entered into force in which Hamas published 33 hostages over a period of six weeks. There was supposed to be a second phase of the agreement that Hamas has never fully accepted, always insisting to change the conditions. Meanwhile, Hamas took the opportunity to rebuild tunnels and infrastructure. Sixteen days after the end of the initial six-week ceasefire agreement, Hamas had still not accepted the terms of the second phase. Israel had enough and the FDI resumed its military campaign to destroy Hamas.
Because of Hamas in the past, Netanyahu insisted that any Trump peace plan demands that all hostages be released first and quickly at the start of any ceasefire. This is a condition that Hamas will certainly not respect, because he knows that once zero hostages remains, the IDF will have no qualms about bombing anywhere and everywhere to eliminate Hamas. My prediction is that Hamas will be forced to accept the agreement, will initially publish hostages, but will not publish them all after 72 hours. Then, Israel will give Hamas a few more days to comply, then the FDI will take up the fights to capture the entire Gaza strip and remove Hamas from power. Time will tell us if my prediction is correct or not.
