The IDF precision strikes were carried out in retaliation after Hezbollah launched several projectiles towards northern Israel overnight.
The leader of Hezbollah’s parliamentary faction, Mohammad Raad, was reportedly killed during IDF strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, Saudi media Al-Hadath reported Monday morning.
The IDF precision strikes were carried out in retaliation after Hezbollah launched several projectiles towards northern Israel overnight.
The Israeli military said it struck several high-ranking Hezbollah terrorists in Beirut and a “core Hezbollah terrorist” in southern Lebanon, but did not confirm the names of the targets.
IDF: attacks against Hezbollah will continue
The head of the IDF’s Northern Command, General Rafi Milo, addressed the ongoing retaliation in a statement saying: “Hezbollah chose the Iranian regime over the state of Lebanon and launched an attack against our civilians. We were prepared – and they will pay a heavy price.”
The statement reaffirmed the IDF’s commitment to protecting Israeli residents in the north, emphasizing that IDF forces are deploying along the northern border and reassuring residents that they would not need to be evacuated at this time.
“Shortly after the Hezbollah rocket attacks, as predicted, we launched a first major wave of strikes in Beirut and southern Lebanon, targeting terrorist officials, headquarters and infrastructure. We are also acting to evacuate civilians in southern Lebanon before further strikes.” » said Chef MG Milo.
This is a developing story.
