Former St. Francis guard Andre Henry ready for sixth year at UC Irvine

With a sixth year of basketball eligibility at UC Irvine, former St. Francis High guard Andre Henry has become so familiar with coach Russell Turner that the two consider each other family.
Henry, who was injured last season after nine games, is back healthy and Turner believes he is ready to shine on offense and defense this season.
He considers Henry one of the best recruits he has ever brought to St. Francis in 2020. In 2023-24, he was the Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
“Andre was probably the highest ranked recruit we ever had,” said Turner, in his 16th season. “I’ve watched him raise his team at St. Francis and he still has that type of personality. I’m excited about where he’s at right now and he’s going to have a great season on both sides of the ball. There’s no limit to what he can accomplish.”
