Hilton Axes Hotel From Their Systems After Video Shows Them Continuing to Ban DHS and ICE Agents – RedState

Hilton Hotels quickly ended its franchise agreement with an independent Hampton Inn in Minnesota after video surfaced showing the hotel continuing to deny rooms to DHS and ICE agents. This, despite assurances that the channel is a “welcome place for all”.
The unrest erupted mid-afternoon Monday when the Department of Homeland Security released email communications from a Hampton Inn Lakeville property showing that management or staff had searched the name of at least one law enforcement officer who was attempting to make a reservation, then canceled the engagement after realizing they were involved in “immigration work.”
“We have noticed an influx of GOV reservations made today for DHS, and we are not allowing any ICE or immigration agents to stay at our property. If you are with DHS or immigration, let us know as we will have to cancel your reservation,” a second email read.
“This is UNACCEPTABLE. Why are Hilton Hotels siding with murderers and rapists to deliberately undermine and obstruct DHS law enforcement in their mission to enforce our nation’s immigration laws?” a DHS X post demanded to know.

RedState editor Bob Hoge reported that the hotel conglomerate issued a statement shortly afterward, saying the location in question is “independently owned and operated” and that it would investigate since Hilton properties “serve as places of hospitality for all.”
They couldn’t have escaped controversy any quicker if they wanted to. But, as you can imagine these days, people weren’t content with Hilton just saying he was going to do something about it. Influencer Nick Sortor, armed with a video recording device, visited the Lakeville Hampton Inn and I quickly learned that the owner and front desk manager, at least, weren’t about to change their unwelcoming attitude.
In the video posted to X, Sortor asks about available rooms and is met with resistance when he says they are for DHS.
“We do not accept immigration people, ICE or DHS agents on our property,” the clerk said. “It’s just by management, our property.”
Sortor points to Hilton’s statement, but the front desk manager says he had just spoken with the owner, who informed him that the selective policy had not changed.

Less than two hours after the video was uploaded to
“The owner of the independent hotel has assured us that he has resolved this issue and posted a message confirming this. A recent video clearly raises concerns that he is not upholding our standards and values,” the statement said. “As such, we are taking immediate action to remove this hotel from our systems.”
“Hilton is – and always has been – a welcoming place for all. We are also engaging with all our franchisees to strengthen the standards we hold to them across our system to ensure this does not happen again.

Of the Now the Hampton Inn in Lakeville appears in search results on the Hilton site when booking, but clicking on the details page opens a new window that quickly disappears. Clicking on the same link for other hotels opens a new booking window.
It appears Hilton is trying to avoid the Bud Light treatment. Did they do enough in this situation and act quickly enough? That remains to be seen.
