Hilton Hotels said a Minneapolis Hilton hotel that denied rooms to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents was “independently owned and operated.”

Everpeak Hospitality, owner of the Hampton Inn Lakeville in Minneapolis, Minnesota, posted a statement on its website saying they had “acted quickly to resolve this issue because it was inconsistent with” their policy “of being a welcoming place for all.”

“Everpeak Hospitality acted quickly to resolve this issue as it was inconsistent with our policy of being a welcoming place for all,” Everpeak Hospitality said. “We are in contact with affected guests to ensure they are accommodated. We do not discriminate against individuals or agencies and apologize to those affected.”

Bill Melugin of Fox News common a statement from Hilton Hotels – which franchised the hotel to the Indian group –run Everpeak Hotel Company. In its statement, Hilton Hotels said its hotels “serve as welcoming places for all.” Hilton Hotels also explained that they are “investigating this matter” with the hotel.

“Hilton hotels are welcoming places for all,” said the Hilton Hotels press release. “This hotel is independently owned and operated, and the actions referenced do not reflect the values of Hilton.”

“We are investigating this matter with this individual hotel and can confirm that Hilton is working with governments, law enforcement and community leaders around the world to ensure our properties are open and welcoming to all,” the statement continued.

Hilton’s response comes after DHS revealed in a job on X that Hilton Hotels had “launched a coordinated campaign in Minneapolis to DENY service to DHS law enforcement.”

“When agents attempted to reserve rooms using official government emails and rates, Hilton hotels maliciously CANCELED their reservations,” DHS said. “This is UNACCEPTABLE. Why are Hilton Hotels siding with murderers and rapists to deliberately undermine and obstruct DHS law enforcement in their mission to enforce our nation’s immigration laws?”

The message from DHS included photos of the Hampton Inn Lakeville property emailing about an upcoming reservation. In the email, the hotel said that “upon further investigation online,” they “found information about immigration work related to” the DHS agents’ names and would cancel their next reservation.

“This email relates to the reservation you made with the Hampton Inn Lakeville property,” another photo of an email in the DHS message reads. “We have noticed an influx of GOV reservations made today for DHS, and we are not allowing any ICE or immigration officers to stay on our property.”
