Best Buy will start dropping Black Friday deals on Halloween

Hope you’ve caught your breath after the Prime Day sales in mid-October. Today (Monday, October 20), Best Buy became the first major retailer to announce its 2025 holiday plans — and for the first time ever, it will begin offering early deals from Black Friday to Halloween.

“We know it’s early, but Halloween has been knocking on our door for a while now and we’re ready to let it join the fun,” the company said in a press release. “This year we’re putting the creep in ‘holiday creep.’ »

Best Buy will continue to offer early Black Friday deals throughout the month of November, leading up to its official Black Friday sale, which begins more than a week in advance on Thursday, November 20. (Black Friday 2025 technically falls on November 28.) The 10-day sale will run through Saturday, November 29, and will offer “deeper savings on categories like computing, gaming, home theater, wearables and more,” the company said.

Best Buy will then launch its Cyber ​​Monday savings event on Sunday, November 30, and it will run for 48 hours until December 1 (i.e. the actual Cyber ​​Monday). Shoppers can save up to 50% on select tech during this sale.

Like last year, Best Buy will round out its early Black Friday deals with several limited-time door series that involve “some of the best deals on the hottest tech.” They will be released online, on the Best Buy app and in-store every Friday throughout the season, starting on Halloween. (Best Buy has a fitting name for the first batch: DoorBOOsters.)

Paying members of the My Best Buy program will receive up to $25 in bonus rewards on select doorbusters.

Consistent with its Holiday Best Price Guarantee, Best Buy will price match items it sells earlier in the season if they become less expensive later. It will also accept returns on most items purchased from October 31 to December 31 through January 15, 2026. This extends through January 31 for My Best Buy Plus and Total members.

Best Buy will extend its store hours for the holidays starting Sunday, November 2; check your local store listing for more information. Best Buy stores will be closed on Thanksgiving, as they have been since 2020.

Competing retailers like Amazon, Walmart and Target have yet to confirm their own plans for Black Friday and the 2025 holiday season.
