Honda’s global output rises 4% in September

Japanese automaker Honda Motor Company reported a 3.8% year-on-year increase in global production to 310,275 vehicles in September 2025, compared to 298,845 units in the same month last year, with production in Japan increasing by 6.3% to 65,587 units and overseas production by 3.2% to 244,688 units.

In the first nine months of 2025, the company produced a total of 2,591,296 vehicles worldwide, down 7% from 2,786,509 units a year earlier, with domestic production slightly higher at 504,118 units, while foreign production fell more than 8% to 2,087,178 units.

Vehicle production in Asia, excluding Japan, has fallen more than 18% to 798,546 units since the start of the year, led by a 19% decline in Chinese production to 486,575 units. Production in North America fell 2% to 1,215,260 units, while in the United States it fell 5% to 735,318 units.

Japan’s overall exports rose 24 percent to 76,137 units year-to-date, led by a nearly four-fold increase in exports to the United States to 16,328 units, while exports to Europe fell nearly 16 percent to 29,262 units.
