Former NFL MVP Shaun Alexander and his wife Valerie have a child on the way. It will be their 14th.
The Seattle Seahawks great revealed the baby in the works during an appearance on the “Up & Adams” show on Thursday while discussing Harvest Covenant, an athletic program for homeschooled kids he and Valerie founded:

“We’re just now starting to tell people, but No. 14 is in the belly.”
The Alexanders, who married in 2002, have had 10 girls and three boys: Heaven, Trinity, Eden, Joseph, Justus, Temple, Honor, Jedidiah, Torah, Eternity, Hosanna, Hope, Judea. Sadly, their ninth child Torah died 70 days after birth in 2017.

Shaun played in the NFL from 2000 to 2008, reaching stardom as the Seahawks’ starting running back. For five straight years, he posted at least 1,100 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, earning MVP honors in 2005 with a campaign that saw him tie the NFL single-season record for rushing touchdowns with 27 and break the record for touchdowns from scrimmage with 28 (LaDainian Tomlinson broke both records a year later).

Alexander struggled with injuries after that season and ultimately finished his career with a partial season in Washington. He is once again under consideration for the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year as one of 128 modern-era players nominated for enshrinement, but faces stiff competition, especially from first-time nominees.
Also among those nominees: former Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, who has his own experience with double-digit children.
