Hot air balloon catches fire and falls in Brazil, killing at least 8 people

A hot air balloon caught fire and fell from the sky on Saturday in the southern state of Brazil of Santa Catarina, killing at least eight people, officials said.
Images shared by the Local G1 media have shown that smoke bolts from the ball in flames have rushed to the ground.
Thirteen people survived and were taken to hospitals, said military firefighters from Santa Catarina, adding that 21 people were on board, including the pilot.
“Our teams continue to provide all the necessary support for families and victims,” said state governor Jorginho Mello in a position on X on Saturday. “We are still monitoring the situation.”
No other details on the accident was immediately available.
“We are all shocked by the accident,” wrote Mello in a previous publication on social networks on the accident.
