Duggal, an entrepreneur herself, experienced this unbalanced dynamic when she was looking for funds for her own electronic commerce companies.
“The real point to remember was around funding and the fact that almost all those we met in the context of our fundraising trip were men,” she said. “While I leaned over the numbers, it has become clear that there was a sort of more important problem at hand.”
More than 11 years, the initiative has collected funds for women based on women who are now worth more than $ 3 billion in total. However, startups led by women receive only about 2% of all venture capital funds, according to the 2025 Woman Founders Fund report.
Duggal founded the camp five years ago to justify the investment by connecting the founders by the sense of community and the pleasure of nostalgic summer – and as an antidote to “technological” culture.
“This is where we do these conversations,” said Kristie d’Ambrosio-Correll, the founder of Dacora Motors, who produces ultra-luxury electric vehicles. “And women have a lot of power and a lot of wealth, and more and more every day. This is our golf course. ”
