Summary

  • To consult applications with access to your Google account, go to Google My Account, select “Data and confidentiality” and choose “Third-party applications and services”.

  • To delete a Google Drive application, access the site, click on the equipment icon and choose “Settings”, select “Manage applications”, click on “Options” for an application and choose “Disconnect from the reader”.

  • To connect remotely from your Google account on your devices, open Google my account, go to Security> Manage all devices, select a device and choose “Connect”.

I realized that some of the applications that I had not used for a long time had access to my Google account. I quickly revoked access to these applications to my account, and I will show you how you can also do it.

Prevent unused third -party applications from accessing data from your Google account

Many applications often ask you to provide them with data from your Google account. These applications access your data and allow you to work with this data. However, once you have stopped using these applications, it is logical to revoke their access to your account. Or, they will continue to access your data long after stopping using it (years, in my case).

To consult these applications, launch the Google My Account site and connect to your Google account. In the left sidebar of the site, click on “Data and confidentiality”. In the right component, scroll to the apps and services section. Here, click on “Third -party applications and services”.

"Data and confidentiality" And "Third -party applications and services" highlighted on Google my account.

On the next page, you will see the applications and services that have access to your Google account. To filter this list, use the connection with Google, the related account and access to options at the top. Then select the application or service you want to delete from your account.

Applications and services connected to the Google account have been highlighted.

On the page that opens, Google tells you the elements to which the selected application or service has access to your account. To revoke the access of this application to your account, at the bottom, click on “Delete all the connections you have with [App or Service Name]. “”

"Delete all the connections with which you have [App or Service Name]" highlighted on Google my account.

In the prompt invite, choose “Confirm”.

In the future, if you want to authorize an application to access data from your Google account, go through the account authentication process in this particular application.

Also remove access to unwanted applications to your Google Drive

Many applications do not connect to your Google account; Instead, they connect to your Google Drive. These applications may not appear on the Google My Account site. This means that you will need to consult these applications on Drive and revoke their access if necessary.

To do this, open the Google Drive site and connect to your account. In the upper-right corner of the site, click on the equipment icon and choose “Settings”. On the Settings page, in the left sidebar, select “Manage applications”. In the right pane, find the application you want to delete. Besides the application, click on “Options” and choose “Disconnect the reader”.

"Disconnect from the reader" highlighted in Google Drive's settings.

In the open prompt, select “Disconnect” to delete the connection of the application to your Google Drive.

Log in your Google account on your unused devices

If you are connected to your Google account on the devices that you no longer use, it is a good idea to disconnect from your account on these devices. This prevents anyone from using these devices to access your account. You can carry out the remote disconnection process (without having access to these devices).

To do this, launch the Google My Account site and connect to your account. In the left sidebar, select “Security”. On the right component, in the section your devices, choose “Manage all devices”.

"Security" And "Manage all devices" highlighted on Google my account.

Review the list of devices where you are connected to your Google account. Click on the device you want to log out. On the next page, choose “Connective”.

"Disconnect" highlighted for a device on Google my account.

In the invite that opens, select “Connective”.

Tips: Activate verification in 2 steps and regularly consult applications accessing your account

To make sure that unauthorized people and applications cannot access your Google account data, implement the following two security measures.

First, activate the 2 -step verification for your account. This guarantees that there is an additional safety layer when you connect to your account. You can add layers like a pass touch, an authentication code, OTP from your mobile, etc.

Second, you must consult the list of applications that have access to your account. You may stop using an application, but you don’t delete it from the list. Follow the above methods to find and delete these applications from your Google account.

And that’s how I made sure that the applications that I no longer used no longer accepted the data from my Google account.
