Jerry Jones — Cowboys’ offer to Parsons was richest for non-QB

Frisco, Texas – While speaking on Michael Irvin’s YouTube channel Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys Managing and Cowboys Director Jerry Jones said that the agreement he thought he had concluded with Micah Parsons “would have made him the best paid player other than a quarter -arre of the NFL.”
“No one appreciates Micah Parsons more than cowboys or me,” said Jones. “No one has ever offered him more money than I have to play football.
As he did in early April the meeting of the owners of the NFL, Jones blamed the Parsons agent, David Mulugheta, so that the agreement is not finalized while the Cowboys get closer to the first match of September 4 against the Eagles of Philadelphia.
“When we wanted to send the details to the agent, the agent told us to stick it,” said Jones. “Just so that you are clear.”
There has been no negotiations concerning a new agreement since then.
When Parsons made public his commercial request on August 1, he said that the meeting he had asked with Jones concerned leadership, but the owner quickly transformed the discussion to the parson contract. He said that an agreement would not be concluded without the involvement of Mulugheta.
Jones said he and Parsons had accepted the duration of the agreement, guaranteed money and total money.
“I agreed to give more money than what has never been given in terms of money guaranteed that whoever has never had to a defensive player,” said Jones. “I did that. Now, I’m the cat that writes the check. Now, Micah is three years old with the cowboys. He is three years old. At one point, someone must have his say on the other. At one point, it must be so.
“My job is to manage the check, ok? Micah must play the game. Where is the least important part of all this equation we are talking about? … the lawyer or the agent, ok? He works for Micah.”
During his stay in Oxnard, California, for the team training camp, Jones said “guaranteeing someone nearly $ 200 million” when he discussed the parson contract. Myles Garrett from The Cleveland Browns has the largest warranty for non-quarters at $ 123.5 million, followed by Nick Bosa from San Francisco ($ 119.9 million) and the Large Cincinnati Ja’mar Chase ($ 112 million).
Also on Irvin’s YouTube channel, Jones added: “We have resolved this offer, in my mind, for Dallas Cowboys. We have done, and if the agents want to finish the details, what it should [do] And make all the documents, he can do it. And we are ready to leave, but with regard to the amount of money, years, guarantees, we have negotiated it. “”
Jones seems to be content to let Parsons play this season on the fifth year option, which costs $ 21.324 million, and plan to use franchise labels in the future. On Wednesday, head coach Brian Schottenheimer said he was confident that Parsons would be on the field for the opening of the season against the Eagles.
“We really have three years to work on this thing,” said Jones. “It’s a basic contract. This is to go. I did it with Dak [Prescott]. And we could not agree, so Dak played his last year of his contract, then we franchised him. So that’s exactly what happened with Dak, and we advanced, and finally we got a contract and made Dak the best paid player in the NFL. The previous one therefore manages it as Dak. … if he doesn’t, it’s very expensive. It’s very expensive for everyone. “”
