Elmira, NY: While the government is continuing its cancellation culture, there may be a few things that people can do. Let’s start with ABC, who withdrew Jimmy Kimmel. If you find that you can live without him, ESPN is his biggest money manufacturer. Fortunately, it is also an opt-in channel. Disney is exactly the same.
If people made a mass cancellation, I think they would change their melody in the blink of an eye. Since money and greed seem to be everything they understand, it would be a devastating blow for ABC. It is difficult to estimate how many millions they would lose, but I can guarantee that it would be an incredibly high number. I would love to see people do the same for Paramount and Peacock. It’s a shame, but hitting them in the wallet seems to be the only way to make them understand the importance of the first amendment. You know, the only amendment that allowed them to earn all this money all these years.
President Trump has done everything he can do to destroy this country. It is impossible to change the opinion of the Maga crowd, which consists only of gourmets and ignorant. They are well rated to vote against their best interest.
Since I have seen a blue landslide coming halfway up, living without these channels is a small price to pay, especially when you consider all the men and women who have given everything to defend this amendment and their colleagues amendments that have made this country the largest nation in the world. Valley Stream, Li: White supremacists have certainly traveled a long way. Fifty years ago, they had to wear white sheets and hide their faces when they sprang from their hate rhetoric. Now people who say exactly the same things get the presidential medal of freedom or sit in the oval office. Hicksville, Li: although I have always been against the cancellation of people, especially on television where you can simply change the channel, I find it ironic that left people panic about Jimmy Kimmel when your side invented him. Roseanne Barr, Gina Carano and Tucker Carlson are just some of the many conservatives who have gone into their career to say much less than Kimmel. He lied openly on Charlie Kirk, declaring that his killer was Maga. He was not, and instead of correcting his vile and disgusting lie, he was going to double. Kimmel constantly insults half of his possible viewers and his notes sang, in particular with the demography of 18-49. He is bad for business and not funny, not even when he spent most of his career degrading women. Good riddance. John Gelormino

Staten Island: I just read that Jean Smart was “horrified” by the suspension of Kimmel and I wondered: “What happens to our country?” (“Fallon cancels the appearance in the Fest after Kimmel withdrew on the air”, September 19). I stopped watching her show “Hacks” when I saw an episode that horrified me. She received the body of Christ when her daughter pushed her into her mouth. I couldn’t believe what I saw. It is the most sacred part of our Catholic mass and they made a joke. Toronto: Great thinkers can assert their points without unnecessarily insulting individuals or groups. Kirk’s alleged hesitation in flight with black pilots cited by Leonard Greene (“Kirk’s death is tragic, but he said horrible things”, on September 14) is an example. It is possible to debate positive action without making negative comments not based on specific groups. I doubt that the German pilots of the Second World War would have had less respect for the flight and combat skills of the pilots in red -tailed planes if they had known that they were black. Nazi pilots may have a more precise opinion on the skills of black aviators than Kirk. Bruce Couchman

The repeal would reduce the burden of New York taxpayers by around $ 200 million a year. We must stop rewarding public services that benefit from the costly construction of fossil fuel infrastructures. Manhattan: Friday, walking on Third Ave. And 88th St., a lady and I spotted an old lady who obviously with mental and spatial problems. How lucky there were four traffic cops and two cars there. Believe it or not, they did not know what to do or who call or even understand the situation until I asked them if I had to call 911. It lasted about half an hour. Finally, the police came, and after making a lot of calls from Talkie-Walkie and demanded this sweet old lady, they understood where she lived. They thanked us and brought her home or hospital. This revealing event scared me deeply. Uniform cops do not need to be social workers to identify this type of situation and know what to do. These are uniforms 101! Gather your act! Suzy Sandor
