Cloud Lips Were the Biggest Spring Makeup Trend at the 2026 Golden Globes

The 2026 Golden Globes red carpet brought many standout makeup looks, but one trend was celeb favorites: cloudy lips. The blurred lip look, which was one of our top lipstick trends for 2026, appeared on many stars last night, including Jenna Ortega, Elle Fanning, Chase Infiniti, Kate Hudson and Zoë Kravitz, to name a few.
As makeup artist Kelly Zhang once said CharmCloud Lips keeps with the theme of Cloud Dancer, the “noble white” which has been dubbed by Pantone as the color of the year 2026. Following the same light and airy feel, Cloud Lips add a pop of color with a soft finish, making them perfect for both the red carpet and everyday wear.

According to Zhang, sheer balms and blurred shades will be everywhere. “The coming year will be all about the blurred lip line,” says Zhang. “Instead of a sharp outline, we soften and diffuse the edges for a natural, lived-in finish.”
For Ortega’s “90s-inspired monochrome nude makeup,” makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis started by prepping the skin with Laduora Lumeo Skinlift LED Infusion. “Over the past five years, we’ve seen makeup artists focus on skin,” Inglessis said in a press release. “Before this, skin was poor and we always had to have a smoky lip look or statement blush. Skin prep, which has always been important to us, is now at the forefront of modern makeup and red carpet makeup. That’s why it’s so important to be able to prep skin properly,” says Inglessis.
Inglessis then applied a full face of Dior Beauty, using Rouge Dior Contour in shade #229 Rose Spice, Rouge Dior On Stage in shade #390 Redwood Star, and Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil in shade #081 Latte on the lips for a just-kissed finish.
