Over the years, I have tried many weather applications for my iPhone, but I have never found the right one so far. I spent a lot of time trying various applications only to be frustrated by limited personalization, overwhelming quantities of information and annoying advertisements.

If you are the type of person who wants to see the weather forecasts to come from the home page of your iPhone, this is the one for you.

There are hundreds of weather applications to choose

There are three types of meteorological applications in the App Store: the default application, the “All-You-Can-SEE” applications and the “filled” applications. They all have problems, especially with widgets.

Apple’s native meteorological application, certainly the best free weather application for iPhone, is excellent and is the most popular choice among iPhone users, as it is preinstalled on each device. One of my favorite features of this application is the way in which its appearance in the application changes to reflect the current weather conditions of your region.

For example, when it rains outside, the application displays a rain animation; When it is sunny, you will see a brilliant sun icon, and so on.

Current conditions are also reflected in the widgets of the official weather application. However, without animations, the look would not work as well. I do not want, for example, see dark and dark clouds on my iPhone display when all I have to do is look outside to see how dull.

THE other The weather app I preferred was the weather for the carrot. The application has acquired its reputation thanks to its sarcastic voice, which provides news updates and popular culture references when launching each application. The Carrot application offers a large collection of content alongside several choices of personalization to adapt to your preferences.

The Widgets of the Carrot weather are similar to those of the official weather application, but they tend to display more detailed information. This is logical since Carrot requires that you buy a subscription to unlock its full list of features.

The main drawback of carrots weather and similar “unlimited” applications is their complexity. The application has too much information, even if you can customize it, which could overwhelm users who prefer less information.

Finally, we have weather applications that generate income through advertising. Often, these applications offer a bad user experience due to intrusive advertisements, which create navigation challenges everywhere. Complete screen advertisements, some of which include annoying videos, interrupt the flow of application content, resulting in user frustration. In addition, application performance can become slower due to advertisements, which adds even more discomfort.

If you do not want your forecasts with one side of the advertisements, you will do well to avoid them.

Hello time is a breath of fresh air

In my search for perfect time widget, I came across Hello Weather. There are many reasons why Hello Weather has become my favorite weather app for my iPhone and iPad. It is also beautiful on macOS.

The reason n ° 1 Hello Weather is at the top of my list is its clean, concise and frozen design, whether in application or via its widgets. On the main page of the iPhone application, you will see a large icon impossible to miss, showing you, without any confusion, what is happening outside. This icon is displayed immediately after the words “right now”, next to the current temperature and the temperature “looks like”.

Then, the application offers a precipitation forecast and current visibility. Below, and what takes a large part of the real estate of the application screen is the “to come” and “this week” sections. The first includes graphics and text that clearly show what is happening in your region in the coming hours, including the temperature and percentage of variation in precipitation.

In addition to this screen, the Hello Weather offers a radar page, which you can personalize to include conditions such as cloudy coverage, love at first sight, precipitation, etc.

Finally, we arrive at the Widgets Hello Weather, who are the real reason why it is my favorite weather application. Each widget (and there are currently eight in different sizes) looks like the application itself. Everyone offers a nice mixture of graphics and text to show you current and future forecasts.

For customization, you can change the background color and the theme of each widget. These parameters introduce subtle modifications into widgets that do not harm the interface to frighten.

By design, most widgets Hello Weather are deliberately short in the content they offer. However, the biggest, the “Grand Bonanza” widget includes a complete view of current hours and daily forecasts. It’s really huge, not necessarily my favorite, but a widget that will undoubtedly appeal to a lot.

There are several other advantages to using Hello Weather. First of all, you can choose from 11 meteorological forecasters, such as Apple, Accuweather and Openweather. This flexibility is welcomed, especially if you have a favorite or you visualize some as more reliable than others, depending on your location.

It is also useful to know that the team behind the Hello Weather application has a robust privacy policy. It does not follow individual users, does not collect or storing personal information, and it does not sell or share this information with third parties.

What costs the time hello?

Hello Weather is a freemium application, which means you have to pay a subscription to unlock all its features. However, unlike many other weather applications, the free version does not include ads. Instead, without subscription, you are limited to a single forecast (Apple), have fewer personalization tools and you cannot use the application on an Apple Watch.

You also need a subscription to unlock the widgets from the application, which is not ideal, but it is not uncommon for application developers to put them behind a payment wall. For me, the price of $ 20 per year or $ 2 per month is worth it.

To fully appreciate hello time, unsurprisingly, I recommend that you go to the full version. In addition to obtaining widgets and the possibility of choosing from different data sources, this version adds notifications, radar animation, sets of weather icons, Apple Watch care, etc. You can also share a family subscription with other members of your household.

Everything is here

I spent years looking for a perfect weather application before discovering Hello Weather, who quickly became my first choice. The application provides features that distinguish it from all the other meteorological applications that I have tested.

Apple’s integrated meteorological application has a modern appearance, but its presentation of Widget remains unattractive due to excessive visual elements. The Carrot weather application, like many others, tends to pack too much information that some users can find overwhelming. I also avoid applications containing excessive advertisements.

Hello Weather’s clean design makes it my favorite weather application due to its simple interface. The main display and the companion widgets, which require a subscription that is worth it, show essential weather information with a minimalist design. Finally, the company maintains a solid privacy policy which guarantees that they do not follow users or do not sell their personal information.

In this case, you get what you pay.
