I Forgot About Live Wallpapers—But This One Is Now My Favorite

In my first years of use of Android, I often had an animated forest as a background or my fish wading in the water. I have forgotten live wallpapers for most of the last ten years, but now I have landed on a new favorite.

There is a lot to love in Chill Vector Live Wallpaper. Here is what gave him a place in the background of my phone.

Minimalist and abstract art

My really preferred wallpapers were often 3D and graphically intensive creations. I remember a forest model where the camera turned to different games each time I changed home screens. These fish I mentioned? If I tapped the water in which they were swimming, it would rush.

You can absolutely find live wallpapers like those of the Play Store, but at one point, the effects started to feel above me. And as it was not a fact at that time that the phones would pass at the end of a day, I headed for minimalist and abstract wallpapers which were anything but live.

Chill Vector Live Wallpaper is a combination of the two. Art exposed here is entirely made of vectors. The different forms meet to reproduce the world around us. I am a fan of this type of design, and I would gladly take a motionless screenshot from any frame of this application to be used as a static wallpaper. That it is animated is a more delicious plus.

Subtle and pleasant animations

Some living wallpapers introduce perpetual movement into the background. There is a constant flow of rain or space-time ripples when you travel through the hyperspace. I prefer that my wallpapers are more subtle.

In this application, the diapers of the foreground and background offset while I inclined my phone, creating a pleasant parallax effect. If I do not move my phone at all, the background is sometimes completely motionless, except the occasional cloud drifting so slowly, its movement is almost imperceptible.

It is the kind of visual touch that gives background life without distracting it or overtimulating. It’s the complete opposite, in fact. This application is the one that helps make me comfortable.

Various landscapes to choose

The application is by default an abstract view of Mount Fuji, with trees swinging in the foreground. This is only one of the eight options. Certainly, some are not at all landscapes. You can go with a sky view or a paradise floating in the clouds that terribly reminds Cloud City of Star Wars.

I left with Chill Hills, because I live among hills in the center of Virginia, and this background does not look like the Blue Ridge mountains not so far. There are other options that look more closely at rocks or mountain ranges in other parts of the world. Although my biggest criticism of the application is that three of the good history are mountains, and they are largely alike. It would be good to see a few that represent a beach or areas like California’s redwood forests.

Four seasons and living weather

The number of options can be partially forgiven due to the degree of variation available for each. To start, you can press each landscape to generate a slightly modified version. Everyone also has variations for each of the four seasons. Although if you use one of the landscapes with trees, you will have to assume that they are with persistent leaves. The leaves do not fall here.

That said, even if I am not in any of the mountain landscapes in the spring or in the summer, I like the way the Blues flow together in winter. You can manually select the season that you find the most beautiful, have the application display at random or define the wallpaper to match your current season. This is the road that I took, so my backdrop is currently summer.

The live wallpaper of the Chill vector also includes nine different weather models. These sometimes have an even more important impact on appearance than the seasons. Chill Hills with only the sun in the sky is an atmosphere very different from these same hills with a complete cloudy blanket or a light mist. I also appreciate that in certain times of the day, the sky contains both the sun and the moon, with the moon in its correct phase.

A tammé background

Technically, there is live wallpaper that I used in the last decade, and it’s Muzei. I do not think of that as a live wallpaper, because it decreases and blurs the background images, which it can also change at regular intervals. It is the gradation and the vagueness that counts for me.

I find most wallpapers, animated or not, unusable because of how much they come up against the icons of the application and the little contrast with text. What ultimately makes Chill Vector Live Wallpaper an option with which I can stick to is its integrated gradation. I have what increased all along, so that my application icons and my labels at Niagara Launcher Pop.

Although this live wallpaper combines with default application icons, it goes particularly well with minimalist icon packs. So if you want to get all this atmosphere to the next level, it’s your next step.
