Hisense isn’t a name that immediately comes to mind when thinking of the best soundbars, but the Hisense AX5125H should be in the conversation for soundbars in the budget price range.

When I tested the AX5125H, I was seriously impressed by its effective surround sound. Watch movies like Star Wars: A New Hopeparticularly the attack on the Death Star at the film’s climax, the Dolby Atmos effects were sharp and precisely placed, the sound was clear and the bass was surprisingly punchy. The rear speakers are smaller, so the surround effects can get lost in the larger space, but for their size the performance is impressive.

The AX5125H also has Bluetooth for music streaming and supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. It may lack other features like Wi-Fi streaming, but it’s exceptional value for what it offers. You won’t find another 500W 5.1.2 channel soundbar system at this price.
