House GOP Eyes Vote On Epstein Files After ‘Transparency’ Measure Clears Procedural Hurdle

The Republicans on the Rules of the Chamber Committee adopted a resolution Thursday evening by calling the Attorney General Pam Bondi to publish information relating to the sentenced sex predator Jeffrey Epstein.
The members of the panel of rules voted 9 to 4 to advance the resolution towards the room floor on the objections of the Democrats who argued that the resolution did not have the power to force to act. The resolution is non -binding, and it is not clear when it could receive a voting at the Chamber’s scale. While the Rules of the House Committee met, President Donald Trump ordered Bondi to release “all the relevant testimonies of the Grand Jury, subject to the approval of the court” linked to Epstein, in an article on the social media platform Truth social shortly after 9 p.m.
“This scam, perpetuated by the Democrats, should end, right now!” Trump wrote, dubbing in his opinion that the tumult around Epstein is a “hoax” concocted by the enemies of the president.
The resolution, offered by the Republican representative of South Carolina, Ralph Norman, calls on bondi to publish certain “documents, files and communications” concerning the investigation of the federal government on Epstein and his partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, within 30 days of the staging of the measure.
The text would create various exemptions, including information which would identify the victims of Epstein, would represent juvenile pornography or are “obviously false or not authenticated”.
Although the Republicans face pressure to require transparency regarding Trump administration of Epstein materials, it is not clear if the management of the GOP of the Chamber would move to lift the measure for a vote or when the ground consideration would occur.
A republican leadership source told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the management of the GOP had not yet determined when the resolution received a vote on the room floor. The Republicans on the Rules Committee said that the calendar was up to the GOP leaders and had not offered additional details.
The Democrats of the Committee have failed the resolution of lack of legal authority to force the Trump administration to join the requests for the measure.
“The Republicans spent the whole day writing an glorified press release to cover a sexual attacker,” published the Massachusetts Democrat representative, the Panel representative. “What they ended up writing is a phony and non -binding resolution that does nothing.”
Rather, he underlined a bipartite bill by the republican representative of Kentucky Thomas Massie and the Democratic representative of California Ro Khanna who would oblige the Ministry of Justice to release the documents related to Epstein in his possession with exceptions for the security of victims, among other limitations.

Massie, which frequently criticizes the leadership of the GOP in the room, burned the resolution of the panel of the rules of the room to lack legal weight to oblige the release of materials linked to Epstein.
“Congress thinks that you are stupid,” wrote Massie on X. “The rules committee adopted a non -binding resolution of Epstein, hoping that people will accept it as real. This forces the release of nothing.”
However, at least one Republican who sits on the Rules of the Chamber’s rules has asked whether the massie legislation would have its effect of forcing Bondi to publish the files.
“A bill adopted by the Chamber is not” restrictive “if it has no chance of being signed by the president even if it is adopted by the two houses,” the republican representative of Texas on Thursday evening. “In the meantime – a strong statement of transparency of the congress requested an administration in the same way that transparency is what the Americans are looking for.”
Norman has expressed the optimism that the information relating to Epstein that Bondi has so far refused to release would ultimately reveal – partly due to the pressure of voters.
“The audience not rental This die, ”said Norman. This East future out.”
The Republican of South Carolina also excited the Democrats for suddenly taking care of Epstein’s files after refusing to ask for their release when former president Joe Biden was in the White House.
“You are [Democrats] hammering on This because You think You obtained a few policy earn on That, “continued Norman.”THE American people are going has judge THE END results of This. And I think When all THE facts come out, to leave them judge he. All of We to want transparency.”
