Buccaneers’ Emeka Egbuka Makes Unbelievable Catch

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting rookies in all of football throughout the first two weeks of the NFL season.
And despite coming into the Bucs’ Week 3 game against the New York Jets with an injury, he is playing through on Sunday. Egbuka wasted no time in making a huge impact.
Egbuka has had an incredibly productive start to the year, going into Week 3 with a tie for the league lead in receiving touchdowns. He has three in the team’s first two games, which have been crucial for the Buccaneers’ offense that is without Chris Godwin to start the year.

At the beginning of the second quarter, Egbuka’s talents were on full display, coming down with an absurd one-handed catch with Jets star cornerback Sauce Gardner draped all over him for a 30-yard gain.
We have seen plenty of Ohio State wide receivers like Garrett Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr. go on to have great starts to their career.
And after seeing this catch, in addition to the productive first two weeks of the season Egbuka has had, many fans and media members believe Egbuka is certainly on the right track to be every bit as good as some of the Ohio State alumni that came before him.
“Just think about not having Emeka Egbuka on your football team. I can’t even imagine,” wrote Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus in a post on X.
“What a start for Emeka Egbuka,” wrote NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.
“FILTHY ONE HANDED GRAB BY EMEKA EGBUKA,” wrote ESPN host Pat McAfee.

It will certainly be interesting to see whether Egbuka’s role in the Tampa Bay offense changes at all when Chris Godwin does ultimately return, which could be coming sooner rather than later.
But given just how excellent the former Ohio State star has been early on in the 2025 season, it will certainly be hard to deny him from seeing the field even when Godwin is back in the fold.
