OPENAI has boasted a lot this week on the capacity of its new feature of Agent Chatgpt, not only to provide information, but to perform tasks in the real world.

So I decided to test it by doing it to help with something that is not too difficult, but that would be more than what I expected to make the standard chatgpt accomplish – plan an appointment evening for my wife and me. I wanted to give him some general details and see what he found in terms of organization of details.

I opened chatgpt and typing agent among the tools available for chatgpt and written my initial request: “Help me plan an appointment evening to see Superman with my wife on Saturday evening. Get us tickets to [specific theater we like] And Mark in our calendars when we should drop our child to his parents and at the start of the film. Also, make a pleasant and fun invitation that I can send to my wife. »»

After a brief break, the agent got to work, asking me to know what editing I wanted tickets and where in the theater we would like to sit down. I told her where and when I prefer. Chatgpt then confirmed that I wanted him to get the tickets, and I confirmed. The AI has opened the theater website according to my request. The AI went to the program I wanted, selected two good seats, then paused in the payment section, which I had to replace with the details of my account.

Chatgpt asked to confirm once again that I wanted the tickets. I said yes and the tickets were bought. I could have left him alone until confirmation, and it would have been good.

With the reserved tickets, the organizational capabilities of Chatgpt then came. He was linked to my calendar and made an event for me, then asked who to send invitations. I added the email addresses of my wife and her parents and they left. Then he asked if he had to do another event for babysitting specifically, which I accepted, and another event and accompanying emails were created.

The invitations to the digital calendar are a bit cold, which is why I asked for a more sophisticated message to send to my wife. Using the agent’s access to the slides, Chatgpt has created a good-taste invitation graphic and integrated it into a slideshow with all the details, suggesting that we share a full cap of popcorn among other cute comments.

Here is the surprising part: it all took less than ten minutes. Film chosen, ready tickets, childcare contact details, invitation sent. I spent more time trying to reserve a haircut. Of course, everything was not without friction.

The initial invitation included the expression “an enchanting evening of romance and cinema”, which was a little too much. And the specific theater had to be corrected in relation to what he thought was first saying. Overall, however, a very easy experience.

I would not go so far as to say that the chatgpt agent completely changes how I would use chatgpt, but I can see how it could rationalize certain things, including long -term planning. Replace “Movie Date Night” with “plan a birthday party” or “buy school supplies”, and there is a lot of mental weight in my mind.

I would say that I am cautiously optimistic about the Chatgpt agent as a regularly used tool. Not because it is impeccable or that changes life, but because it could make the little things easier and smooth on certain obstacles of life to make me enough time for an appointment to remember.
