‘I Was Deported And I Think It Was Justified’: Recent Deportee Who Went Viral Says Outlet Got His Story All Wrong

Ted, a recently deported British citizen who grew up in the United States, went viral during his Friday interview with The Telegraph.
In the interview, Ted (pseudonym) maintains that he deserved to be deported.
“Unlawful presence after finding out I was illegally present, right? I’m not making excuses. I should have been deported,” Ted said of his arrest. “There is an illegal immigration crisis in America, and any president who wants a legally orderly nation has the right, duty and obligation to impose deportation. » (RELATED: Trump tells British newspaper he’s ‘very disappointed’ in Prime Minister Keir Starmer)

Ted told the Daily Caller that he “wasn’t terribly happy with the way the Telegraph tweeted.” [his] part of their segment.
“The headline they used for the tweet was, or rather the caption they used for the tweet, something like: ‘People being deported from the US to the UK are unhappy with the benefits they are receiving’, and that has never been my position. I did not take taxpayers’ money. I am not asking Keir Starmer to help me resettle. So I don’t understand why they are using the caption for the entire article where there is had other people who were maybe more in agreement with it, and then applied it to just my segment, but for the people who actually watched, I think they were sort of pleasantly surprised by the fact that I was taking responsibility for my own eviction,” Ted said.
I asked Ted to expand on other major misconceptions in the Telegraph’s coverage.
“Main misconceptions… That I’m like a Trump loyalist, a MAGA follower, a staunch Republican, and that doesn’t at all sum up the nuance of my political positions.
“I would also say, because I was included in that article with the other two, that the misconception was that I was dissatisfied with the amount of stuff I’m getting, or that I think I’m entitled to more, and then also because they included the clip from my TikTok, my most viral TikTok of last year, referencing the UK in a rather offensive way.”
The telegraph quoted Ted said in this viral TikTok: “Now I’m in the UK and this country sucks and made me become more America First, because you see outside of London all of England is a third world country, a dump. I hate it here and I’m excited and ready to go back to the States.” (RELATED: England Continues Cultural Erasure by Removing Winston Churchill from Currency)
Ted continued: “It seems that the impression that comes out of what The Telegraph has published is: ‘Here’s a guy who hates where he is and isn’t aware of the fact that he’s a privileged criminal, who is honored to be in the UK’, and that’s not what I think at all.”
Ted told the caller that immediately after his eviction, he created a social media profile.
“I was discussing the circumstances of my deportation and my political views, sort of thinking that as an expelled person, in the midst of everything that was happening with the [Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)] protests and all that, I wanted to say something like, “Hey, I got kicked out and I think it was justified. I’m not here to say, “I hate Trump.” I hate ice cream. I resided in the United States illegally for a period of time that warranted my deportation.
