ICE Delivers at Houston Airport

Democrats created the problem of TSA lines at airports when they refused to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). They claim they are doing this to force reforms to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), but it is the Democrats who have created problems there too, by demonizing ICE and portraying the entire agency as jack-booted thugs. Not only are they falsely attacking American law enforcement officers who put themselves in harm’s way for us, under great pressure, but they are also inciting people to lash out at them, like this lovely woman who started yelling about ICE at Newark Airport.

“Nazis have no place in America,” she shouted. “And they don’t belong in airports.”

Not only does this downplay Nazis, it’s just plain stupid, especially when ICE is there to help. But that’s what the Democrats influenced.

Sen. Chris Coons (D-D) said ICE’s presence was not about “fixing delays, reducing costs or helping families,” but was about “adding more stress to already overwhelmed travelers.”

But the opposite is true. While Democrats shout and make problems worse, ICE is helping to alleviate them.

They appear to be making a difference, with wait times apparently reduced at several airports. CNN reported that wait times were less than 30 minutes when they checked on Monday.

According to other assessments, “maximum wait times” as of noon Tuesday were also down at several locations where ICE has been deployed, including Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (20 minutes), Philadelphia International Airport (13 minutes) and Houston Hobby Airport (9 minutes). Obviously this can vary depending on the time of day; It’s busier in the morning, so make sure you always check if you have a flight. But it appears things are improving, with the possible exception of George Bush Intercontinental Airport, where maximum wait times were around 240 minutes.

But they don’t just help reduce waiting times. In Houston, where passengers face the most challenges, ICE demonstrated other ways to help people who have to stand for hours in a crowded, stifling line. Not only did they help distribute water, but they even offered to wait in line so people could go to the bathroom.

This shows the American people what he’s doing. It’s Americans helping Americans. Democrats don’t care when they smear ICE for their agenda; there are real people they are hurting. Today, people can see, through concrete, demonstrable examples, that Democrats and the media lied about ICE.
