The music streaming platform launched direct messaging last August, allowing you to share what you’re listening to without leaving the app. As is the case with individual messages, you can only add people to group chats if you’ve already interacted with them through other Spotify features, like joining their Jam Session, Collaborative Playlists, or Mixes.
To create a group chat, go to the Messages option in the app and select “Create Group” at the top of the screen. From there, you can invite up to 10 friends and family to join your conversation. Messaging is available for free and premium users.
