Sen. Kennedy Rubs More Salt in the Wound After Schumer’s No Good, Horrible, Very Bad Week – RedState
While Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) certainly has a unique way with words, that of a Southern gentleman, he’s also not one to mince his words, as we saw this week after Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) government shutdown coup ended, thanks in part to eight Democrats in his caucus defecting to vote with Republicans to end it.
As we reported in an interview, conducted amid reports that a deal had been reached with Senate Democrats, Kennedy told Fox News that “Senator Schumer chose this shutdown — he just dug up more snakes than he could kill.”
And the day after the House voted and sent President Trump the bill ending the shutdown, Kennedy went into beast mode, declaring that Schumer’s inability to stand up to his party’s AOCs was what pushed him down this path.
“I think he’s afraid of them,” Kennedy suggested. “I think his testicles are on back order from China.”

Los Angeles Sen. Kennedy Predicts How Schumer Shutdown Will End in His Unique Way
As early as February of this year, Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) was being touted as a formidable primary challenger to Schumer in 2028, as frustration among the woke left grew that Schumer was not fighting back hard enough against Trump.
This narrative became much louder after the shutdown deal became a reality, with AOC herself among those who pointed out her leadership failures in terms of inability to maintain the shutdown and arguing that primary voters in the states where these eight Democratic senators reside should not forget what happened this week.
To rub a little more salt in the wound, Kennedy had this to say in response to a clip of AOC again focusing on the fact that Schumer’s shutdown failed, thanks in part to Schumer himself:

Yeah. They will mow down their left-wing appeasement supporters after getting what they want from them, just as New York’s Democratic governor, Kathy Hochul, discovered after supporting the socialist Democratic candidate for New York City mayor, Zohran Mamdani, two months before her election.

There is something to be said for not kneeling to the more radical elements of your political party. But again, that would require a certain ardor, which is lacking among Democrats these days.
