Illegal Trucker Accused Of Killing Three Was Given Commercial Driver’s License By California

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the Daily Caller that California has granted a commercial driver’s license (CDL) to an illegal alien accused of killing three people in a major crash.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) that it arrested Jashanpreet Singh, a 21-year-old Indian national, on Tuesday after he allegedly caused a multi-car pileup along a highway in Ontario, California. Singh entered the country illegally during the Biden administration in 2022 and was later released. Leavitt told the caller that California had granted the illegal alien a CDL, necessary to drive tractor-trailers and buses in the United States.
“This is something that the Department of Transportation has already looked into, I know Secretary Duffy, who does a phenomenal job, has spoken many times about this topic and the crackdown that the Department of Transportation is taking on these licenses that are being wrongly issued to people who clearly don’t deserve to be in these positions,” Leavitt told the caller.

“Regarding this case in California, on October 22, ICE filed an immigration petition for this individual following his arrest by local authorities in California on charges, as you know, of intoxicated manslaughter and driving under the influence. He killed three people and first entered the United States in 2022 through the southern border, he was released into our country by the administration previous,” she added.
“So now ICE has placed a separate detainer for this individual and these tragedies follow a disturbing trend of these criminal illegal aliens being issued commercial vehicle licenses,” Leavitt concluded. “So yes, the Department of Transportation is absolutely cracking down on this.”
Duffy restricted licensing requirements for commercial truck drivers in September, sparking legal action from left-wing unions. The Department of Transportation (DOT) has cracked down on foreign truck drivers after a federal audit found “catastrophic patterns” of states illegally granting licenses to migrant truck drivers.
More than 25 percent of non-domiciled CDLs examined were “incorrectly issued” in California, according to a DOT press release. The Secretary has issued specific requirements to California, including requiring it to suspend the issuance of non-domiciled CDLs.
“California’s reckless disregard is frankly disgusting and an affront to the millions of Americans who expect us to protect them,” Duffy said in the September press release. “California must act immediately or I will not hesitate to mobilize millions of dollars. To all other states across the country, find all improperly issued CDLs and revoke their licenses now. We have a duty to the American people to ensure that only legal, qualified drivers operate large vehicles on our highways.”
