Ignores Global Attacks, Calls Strike Unjustified – RedState

The young senator from California – the Romans would have said “lesser senator” and would never have been so right – Adam Schiff (Democrat-CA) is entirely predictable. Every time he opens his mouth, something stupid comes out. On Sunday, the little senator (I like that) appeared on ABC News’ This Week with George Stephanopoulos, to talk about Operation Epic Fury and the ongoing dismantling of the Iranian theocracy. As usual, the senator is ridiculously and hysterically wrong.
Adam Schiff says Iranian regime – top state sponsor of terrorism chanting ‘Death to America’ – poses ‘no imminent threat’ to US
ABC: Khamenei has launched attacks around the world for nearly 40 years, so is the president right to eliminate him?
SCHIFF: No. pic.twitter.com/cKzGGxnP1C

Here’s what Senator Schiff posted, expecting us to take it seriously:
George Stephanopoulos: And we’re back now with the Congressional perspective. I want to start with Democratic Senator Adam Schiff of California. Senator Schiff, thank you for being with us this morning. Ayatollah Khamenei led a regime that brutalized his own people and launched attacks around the world for nearly 40 years. So, was the president right to take him out?
Senator Adam Schiff (Democrat-CA): No. You are right about the Ayatollah. He was a brutal dictator. It’s a murderous regime. But at the same time, it posed no imminent threat of attack to the United States. They have not reconstituted their nuclear program, which the president declared just months ago had been destroyed. They do not have ballistic missiles capable of hitting the United States.
Um, there are thousands of Iranians in the United States, illegally, largely due to the efforts of Democrats, who see immigration laws as just sort of a gentle suggestion, which they can ignore at any time. Any of them, even most of them, can pose a threat. And they certainly have ballistic missiles capable of hitting Israel, or any Gulf country, as they are still proving today. And anyone who believes they haven’t worked to rebuild their nuclear program has too low an IQ to serve in the U.S. Senate.
He continues:
There was simply no reason to embark on this massive military campaign, with the aim of regime change. And the problem here is that we have triggered factors in the region that we can no longer control. If the Iranian people stand up, as the president has called on them to do, perhaps they will succeed. Maybe they’ll be slaughtered based on the president’s implicit promise that we’ll be there to help.
Perhaps the diet is simply taking on a new form, one that is just as depraved. And then what have we accomplished? Maybe our military is being killed, as the president pointed out. And I hope and pray that they stay safe. Both those who carry out the mission and those who are in the bases in the region.
No, senator, if the current regime can be overthrown, which seems to be the goal, all these people dancing in the streets will form a new government, and it will not be a fascist theocracy, it will be a modern representative government. This is perfectly clear to anyone who has intelligence enough to pound sand.
But the president made no argument to the American people. He did not seek any authorization from Congress. We need to come back as soon as possible and have a vote on the war powers resolution that Tim Kaine, Rand Paul, Senator Schumer and I introduced. But this matter has not been proven and we simply cannot predict the consequences of this action.
However, one thing is certainly true. The president broke his promise to the American people to end wars of regime change and broke his promise to focus on reducing costs for American families. Nothing about this action will improve the lives of Americans.
Iran is a global threat. They are the main sponsor of Islamic terrorism. They are the ones who pulled the strings of the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel. Their actions, their money, their weapons caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people.
GS: So what do you say to those Iranians celebrating in the streets today?
SCHIFF: Well, look, I would say I’m glad the regime is gone. At least the leader of this terrible regime is gone, and we support him. But I would also say that we cannot fight this war for you, that you should not expect American troops on the ground, that we hope you succeed. But I would not want to raise hopes among the Iranian people that if they rise up, American troops will be there to support them.
Now they may have the means to overthrow this regime. I hope and pray that this is the case. But maybe they don’t, and if they don’t and it ends in a bloody massacre, then the president will bear responsibility for this loss of life. So it’s a very difficult situation, I think, for the Iranian people. They will have to determine their own destiny. And I certainly hope they succeed. There would be nothing better than the end of this terrible dictatorship which has lasted for a century or decades. But there is no imminent threat to the United States that would justify exposing American troops to this kind of risk.
They have the means, Senator, because the United States and Israel are solving the problem of the old regime and its army through the appropriate use of high explosives; we have placed a steel umbrella over Iran, and in the streets millions of Iranians are demanding democracy. I think they have the intelligence and the courage to do so – two qualities that you, senator, do not know, having neither.

Honestly, we should appreciate politicians like Adam Schiff. In his over-the-top stupidity, in his exposure of Stave V Trump Derangement Syndrome, he gives us a wonderful illustration of what we should not vote for. And here’s the thing: There are signs that California is tired of one-party rule. Could little Senator Schiff really be voted out in his next election? This would be another regime change that we would all be happy to see.
