‘I’ll make the right decision for the city’
New York mayor, Eric Adams, would not commit to seeing his re -election campaign until the day of the ballot, saying that on MSNBC “politics” on Saturday that he would make the “good decision for New York City”.
For weeks, Adams faced rumors that he could abandon the race in order to stimulate former governor Andrew Cuomo against Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani, a state assembly. President Donald Trump told journalists earlier this month: “I would like to see two people abandon” the race. Adams shortly after held a provocative press conference saying that he would stay in the race and that he had received no “formal offer” from the White House.
But during his Saturday interview, Adams deplored the media coverage of his campaign, arguing that this has harmed his ability to mount a competitive race.
“If someone is constantly reporting, even when you say the opposite, you leave the race the next day, you leave the race the next day, you lose your donors and your donors.
“Is the real program to cover me in the same way as you cover the other candidates or to undermine my campaign?”
When the host of the show, Reverend Al Sharpton, replied if there was “no circumstance” in which Adams would withdraw from the race, Adams replied: “No, I cannot say that.”
“I am sitting with my team, having our trails, discovering how we put the money in the chests to make the advertisements, to make the shippers, to pay our team and our staff,” he said.
“We have to make the right decision. I make the right decision for New York City, a city that I like,” he added.

Prosecutors accused him of having taken more than $ 100,000 in free plane tickets and stays at the luxury hotel with rich Turkish nationals during his stay in the local government, arguing that he had made official favors in return. Adams, who repeatedly denied any reprehensible act, then chose to manage an independent offer instead of requesting the democratic appointment.
Asked about Trump and the decision to abandon the accusations against him, Adams thanked the president for his “help” to reject the “false accusations” against him and said on several occasions that he had not discussed the case directly with Trump. But he criticized the idea that he is under the “thumb” of the Trump administration, said that Trump never “asked for anything” and threw his criticisms as racists.
“What you have seen in the past three years and eight months is a coherent story that has been created: the second black mayor is corrupt, the second black mayor is incompetent,” he said.
He also invoked the decision of the president of the time, Joe Biden, to forgive his son Hunter Biden to question the decision of the Ministry of Justice to instill Adams.
