The Ohio State Buckeyes are positioned atop the 2025 College Football Playoff bracket after compiling an 11-0 record heading into their regular season finale against Michigan with two losses.

With receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate listed as day-to-day by head coach Ryan Day, the remaining questions about the Buckeyes’ depth are valid. Especially with the Big Ten championship likely.

But the bigger storyline is ending the four-game losing streak against their arch-rival Wolverines. One more defeat and the sequence will be the worst in more than a century of “The Game”.

A win against the Michigan Wolverines not only guarantees the Big Ten title berth, but likely puts the Buckeyes among the top seeds in the playoffs. On3’s Andy Staples projects Ohio State as the No. 1 seed for the playoffs. Their path to the playoffs seems clear, but rivalry pressure is the biggest factor in Week 14.

This game has both playoff and pride implications. With expectations high, the Buckeyes hope to avoid a mental misstep and regain dominance. They will advance regardless of the next two games. However, the top seed leaves with a defeat.
