I’m obsessed with Windows 11’s secret God mode

You may have played with God’s modes in PC games before, where you type a code to obtain supernatural powers that defy normal physics of the game or make you invincible. Surprise! Windows 10 and 11 also have one.
In the case of Windows, however, you do not get supernatural powers. What you get is access to a lot of controls that you should normally dig deep to find in menus, submenus and tabs.
I use the Windows God mode to find and manage Windows administrative tools faster than I would normally be, to adjust and check things like the electric plan of my PC and to display my devices. Just say that it saves me a bunch of time by reducing the time I spend with a unnecessary hanger.
In fact, I recommend the Windows God mode as a quick way to access the functions that you use a lot and want to have shortcuts on your desktop. Here’s how to turn it on!
What to do:
- Right -click your desktop and select New> File To create a new file.
- Rename the file: Godmode. {Ed7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}.
- This should transform your new file into an office icon. If this does not happen right away, give it a few minutes – it will be the case.
- Double-click the icon. You will now see a list of functions from which to choose. Select the function you want to perform by clicking on it at will.

I hope this allowed you to run a roller of functions commonly used faster than you could otherwise. It is an envelope for this tip. If you want more advice and stuff like this one sent you by email directly twice a week, be sure to register for our PCworld, try this newsletter.
